Bottom of heel pops when go onto tiptoe. Feels like strumming of harp strings, followed by cold tingling sensation in heel & ankle. What can this be?

Cord or Chord??: The cold, tingling sensation of the heel and ankle is be caused by a temporary disruption of normal nerve impulses in a rather substantial nerve supplying the heel and ankle. I have had a rhythmic tingling in my right heel for 2 days now. I don't notice it as much when I'm walking around but notice it when resting/sitting?

You've got Rhythm.: I would say the rhythmic pattern is caused by the hearts beating rhythm. The fact that you feel it's rhythm means that the heel is likely inflamed. The inflammation causes congestion and pressure on the nerves which makes the tingle. Elevate your feet, higher than your heart, if you can. You might need some better foot wear to take some shock off your heel. ...Read more

I wore heels for several hours. After I took my shoes off, I felt a numb tingling sensation in my toes. It's been a week later and I still feel it.?

Does a l5-s1 bulging disk fully heal over time? If it does, how long does it approximitly take to heal? There is a slight tingling in my heel.

No: Bulging discs never unbuge by themselves. It is possible that symptoms attributed to the bulging disc may resolve over a period of weeks to months. This happens when swelling is the primary cause of irritation of nerve roots causing sciatica. As swelling subsides the symptoms resolve. If the disc is herniated (excessive bulging) and it causes paralysis and severe pain; it often
needs surgery. ...Read more

I've been waking up at night, irritated because the heels of my feet are tingling (like ants). Also, some stretching (lower back) makes me feel dizzy.

Feet Tingling: Symptoms like this frequently come from the back, so I would start with a neurologist or physiatrist to check that area. The treatment can be simply rotating your mattress, reducing the hours sitting during the day, to more complicated. Here is a video that talks about it. Dr Rich Blake

Have IIH and bulging disc below where my ribs start. Started having numbness and tingling around knee or in heel whether sitting or standing.

Nerve testing: The level you are describing for you disc herniation would not be expected to cause the numbness in that area. I would expect something lower down in the spine. There are some nerves in the legs that can develop neuropathies. EMG/NCV testing may help with the diagnosis. A Physiatrist or Neurologist may help you get to the bottom of you diagnosis. ...Read more

Why when I drink (once a month) next day bad joint pain (hips, jaw, ankle, heel) and tingling all day in some fingers. Age 35, female, good health?

Could be a number of: Things. I would recommend avoiding drinking and see your pcp just to make sure there are no other issues you are just noticing when you feel poorly. If it is just related to drinking, it could be related to dehydration, which could cause some joint pain but not normally tingling in fingers. I have intermittent tingling in my toes (bilateral) l heel, and l shoulder. Mri of spine was clear. All lab tests wnl (thyroid, b12, a1c, etc) ideas?

Local factors: Inflamed muscle or tendons leading to those extremities can still be intermittently compressing the nerve. Sometimes it could be simply the way you are shifting or moving. Knowing that the roots at the spine are clear is good. Because the pain is intermittent, consider a local factor. See if a stretch or massage makes a difference. ...Read more

Tingling in left heel after hot shower/hot weather. Brain/spine mri shows hernation at t7-t8 with flattening of the left ventricle spinal cord, disc protrusions and spondylolisthesis from L4-S1 causing stenosis. Why do I have the heat sensitivity?

Need Neuro exam.: You should see a Neurologist with a copy of the report & (ideally) pictures of the MRI that you underwent. Only a Neurologist can accurately tell you if / why you have heat sensitivity. Usually, heat sensitivity means loss of the ability to tell the difference between hot & cold. The spinal MRI may be misleading. Poor circulation, neuromas, diabetes, & other conditions predispose feet to tingling. ...Read more
