Parasympathetic: Your eyes are very sensitive and responsive to various internal and external environmental factors including ambient light levels and autonomic nervous system stimulation. The pns stimulates tear formation. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
You bet!: When we stare at something for a long time (computer screen, book, wall) we decrease the amount of blinking per minute. Blinking pushes water on the eye (reverse windshield wiper) to coat it. When you don't blink, the eye dries and sends a signal to the tear gland to produce more tears in order to protect the eye. It is a sign that you are staring too long. Try a break or artificial tears. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Epiphora: Eyes water for two basic reasons: either something is irritating them (like an onion or an allergy) and stimulating the lacrimal gland to secrete more tears, or the tear drainage system is blocked so that the normal tears cannot get down the drainage tubes to the nose. What could cause me to hear my heart beat in one of my ears every couple of days? Rarely eyes get watery when hearing heart beat.
Ears: We hear by 2 mechanisms: external sounds via air conduction and internal sounds by bone conduction. Normal anatomy: your carotid artery passes through the bone that makes up your inner ear. Bottom line: you likely have serous otitis media or an intermittently congested eustachian tube. When your external hearing is diminished, you hear the softer internal blood flow. This is not dangerous. Read more

Yes: Determine if reflexive tearing (thus treat the etiology, remove inciting factor or improve the tear film or make more tears), or obstruction of the tear drain (thus re-open it or bypass it), or any underlying primary or secondary cause. Excessive tearing is usually when you have to carry a tissue box and the tears are always spilling over like crying. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
