I think the problem: Is in your throat or nose, not in your ear. Sounds like the eustachian tube is blocked by swelling caused by infection or allergy. See an ENT specialist if otc antihistamines and nasal sprays don't help. ...Read more

It is called eustachian tube dysfunction (etd). Decongestant either sprayed into the nose or taken orally can alleviate this problem.
