Bronchitis: It sounds like you may have bronchitis. Make sure you stay well hydrated by drinking lots of water and avoiding caffeine, sugary drinks and alcohol. If you have high fevers and fatigue see a doctor right away since it could be pneumonia. If it persists even without fever you may need to see a doctor also.

See a doctor: You should see a doctor so that they can prescribe you some medications that will help you. Blood can sometimes mean that you are causing a type of trauma to the lungs (hard coughing).

Cough: You may have an infection like mycoplasma for which zithromax will help. Alternatively could be reflux or post nasal drip from allergies.. Would elevate head of bed, trey zyrtec in AM, and follow up with doctor/urgent care for antibiotics or even inhaler if you have mild reactive airways from allergies.

Probable bronchitis.: You probably have bronchitis. If you have only a low-grade fever, it is probably viral so antibiotics are not useful. If your symptoms are improving, you would need symptomatic relief only and you should see it resolve over the next few days. If your symptoms are worsening, see your doctor. You could also have residual bronchospasm best treated w/ inhalers that your doc can prescribe.

I'm constantly coughing up mucus. What can I do?

Constant mucus: Mucus is a thick fluid secreted by glands that helps protect areas of the body exposed to the environment. It filters away particles and organisms that stick to it; it also contains antiseptic substances that prevent infection. Mucus production in the lungs increases in response to allergens (pollen, molds) & irritants (smoke). A chronic cough producing mucus should be evaluated medically.
