Why Do I Have Heartburn When I Have Not Eaten
I suffer from heartburn but recently after I eat I get a burning sensation in my lower stomach it starts at the left of the abdomen and moves in the middle all the way up to my inner chest area?
When I eat very acidic tomato sauce I feel it start burning all the down. Had awful heartburn throughout pregnancy but not pregnant anymore. Gerd?

Unclear: Many people with GERD have the sensation food is stuck in the throat. Probably related to the brain mis-perceiving sensory information from the throat area. Possible: Does not sound like cardiac pain. Not unusual for gerd symptoms to act like this. An easy test is to simply take an over the counter medication for gerd like prilosec. If symptoms improve that may be it. I would still recommend you also see a physician to further evaluate your symptoms to make sure a more serious problem is not causing your problems. ...Read more

Depends: Obesity, carbonated drink contributes. Keeping head end of the bed elevated, avoiding recumbent posture for one hr after full stomach, cutting down on hot, spicy, sour food will help.
