Hello Dr's. I have a dry cough that has been going on for 6 months. I've had a bad cold in December. Could this be the cause of my dry cough?
URI: You did not say much as a basis for diagnosis other than a dry cough. I suggest you see your doctor. In the meantime you can try to treat the most common cause which is common cold or allergic rhinitis with antihistamine like Claritin and couple it with a nasal steroid like fluticasone. ...Read more

Asthma/other lung dz: Peristent dry cough has many possible causes- including atypical pneumonia, chronic rhintis with post nasal drip is possible- also asthma or COPD which are chronic lung conditions.
