Asthma/other lung dz: Peristent dry cough has many possible causes- including atypical pneumonia, chronic rhintis with post nasal drip is possible- also asthma or COPD which are chronic lung conditions. Swollen gland: The swollen gland is probably a lymph node caused by the bacteria or virus that caused the cough and cold in the first place. Most of these swollen glands will resolve over time.
