Why Do I Go To The Bathroom More At Night Than During The Day
I have had fever at night for 3 nights now. Feel fine during the day. No coughing or stuffy nose. I have had mild cramping and lower back pain for 3 days now too. Not sure what could be causing this. No issues when I go to the bathroom.
If the night fevers continue, then you need to be seen.
If this is a viral infection it should run its course in the next few days. ...Read more

I read an article that the process of nocturnal enuresis is involuntary, because the process of releasing urine (during the night or day) is involuntary. How can this process be called involuntary if the person can hold urine until the bathroom?
Nocturnal enuresis: 37 year old gentleman with a question about nocturnal enuresis. The answer you saw refers to bedwetting that is involuntary and not to getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. A person wets the bed while sleeping and is unable to consciously stop it. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Male, 21 years old.recently when I go to bathroom, my feces are dark grey.should i be worried. Ps I fast during daytime(Ramadan)but eat at night. Thanks?
Normal stool: Fasting during Ramzan makes most Muslims consume foods which is not part if their daily staple. With many such foods, rich in calories, sugars etc, the BMs don't look the same. As long as your output is regular, albeit somewhat dis colored, there shouldn't be any reason for alarm. Ramzan Mubarak ...Read more

When I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom I feel very dizzy. This lasts for a few minutes but does not repeat during the day.
Is going to bathroom on average 8 times a day bad for a female. I drink about 2-4 cups of water a day but on rare days it's 5-6. I don't go at night.?
Likely ok: While diabetes, urinary tract infections & some other illnesses can cause frequent urination, your urinary patterns sound normal. Vit c & soda can increase urinary frequency as well. If you're having pain, or don't feel like you're fully emptying your bladder, or if you're still concerned, please see your pcp. You do need to try & increase your water intake to about 8 glasses per day. ...Read more
gelling: When you lie in bed (or rest with no movement anytime), your joint gel and initial movement hurts. This is a typical arthritic symptom. It's not having to urinate, it's getting up after sleeping that causes your sx. The issue may be in your spine or your hips. Careful exam and xray/mri can isolate the cause. ...Read more
Hip joint pain?: Perhaps this is an arthritic stiffness pain. You would know if there are reasons to think this. If the hours of lying still made the joint painfully stiff, a bedtime dose of anti-inflammatory might prevent it. Ask your doctor for eval ; recommendations. Good luck! ...Read more
I tend to go to the bathroom a lot at night. There is a small amount of urine and it's colorless. I'm a 26 y/o grad student and drink a lot of coffee.
This may be normal: And may be controlled by decreasing your coffee intake, particularly in the afternoon/evening. Caffeine acts as a diuretic as you likely know. Physiologic nocturnal diuresis occurs where the kidneys produce more urine while the body is recumbent as this position causes increased blood flow to the kidney. Urologic problems such as overactive bladder and small bladder capacity require urologic eval. ...Read more

Family doctor: It sounds like there is quite a bit going on with you, and it is difficult to determine what is causing your symptoms. If necessary the family doc can refer you to the appropriate specialist. ...Read more

Prostate problem?: Getting up at night also known as nocturia is normal as we get older (men and women) up to 1-2 times. We make more urine at night while reclining. But if it is bothersome or more frequent this may indicate that your prostate is becoming obstructive making complete emptying more difficult. I'm a 72 old female, I wake up every 2 hrs at night, i have to go to bathroom, is that normal? I have type 2 diabetes
You did not state that you have diabetes. A common cause for frequent urination at night is simply bladder problems unrelated to diabetes. An overactive bladder is one name for this.
If the amount you urinate is often just a little or if you often have to go just a few moments after you urinated, that strongly suggests a bladder problem not diabetes.
In any case, urine and blood testing should provide further information to answer the question and to tell whether infection is playing a part.
It is not normal to have to urinate this frequently. So get this checked out. Hopefully you will enjoy better sleep. ...Read more
