If having some difficulty sleeping from situational stress why would 2 mgs of lorazapam be prescribed vs something else like meletonin or exercise .

Not best option: I agree with you that Lorazepam 2 mg for sleep is very aggressive. It may indeed work well, but the risk of dependency is high. Call your doctor and express your concern. Ask if melatonin is fine. Best wishes. Melatonin should be dosed 3 mg prior to desired sleep time. ...Read more

Gerd? sleep apnea?: The fact that your shortness of breath does not get worse with walking or exercise would go against an ischemic or lack of blood flow scenario for which stress echo is necessary. In addition a regular echo might not be the next dx choice either. This depends: On what your psychiatrist has suggested and prescribed for you. Paranoid schizophrenia is a serious illness, and requires ongoing treatment including antipsychotic medications such as zyprexa (olanzapine). Sometimes these are taken at night, but not always.
