Gave up diet soda and have IBS and Gerd. Am On 60 mg dexilant (dexlansoprazole). Can I get heartburn from drinking iced tea? And I take my pill at night.
GERD: Good for you for giving up diet sodas! It is possible to have worse reflux from iced tea, but it is usually from the caffeine in the tea. If you're drinking caffeine free tea, it usually does not make GERD worse. As for the DexIlant, (dexlansoprazole) is best to take it 20 to 30 minutes before a meal. I would not recommend taking it at bedtime. Good luck. ...Read more
My skin is out of control all of a sudden. Think all the diet pepsi I drink has anything to do with it?
Absolutely: The acidity of the sodas at a pH of 2 represents 100, 000 times the number of hydrogen ions of water. This shuts down all of the enzymes systems of the body and intereferes with toxin removal from the body. Secondary removal of toxins is through the skin and this causes skin irrititation. Challenge: stop the sodas and other acids for 30 days and see the difference. ...Read more

Could you give some health advice with regards to diet soda? I currently drinking about 16oz of it twice a week. Is that excessive?
Other than medical conditions & lotta meds. I have LOW sodium. I only drink diet soda (which HAS sodium) 12-14 cans daily! Why would sodium b low??
Too much soda: That is far too much soda. It's making your sodium low based on how your kidneys will handle the soda you are drinking. Your body very tightly regulates your sodium, so you will mostly just pee out the sodium.
