Why Do I Get Nauseated When I Take Vit E Capsules
Multivitamins: Vitamins can be very hard on the stomach. If you are getting good nutrition you really do not need these unless your physician is worried about iron levels or malnutrition. It is okay to stop the vitamins and it is okay to experiment with other brands to see if they are less hard on your tummy. ...Read more

Do not stop vitamin: Try taking the folic acid at night or with a meal. If it comes as several pills (most OTC folic acid is 400mcg, so you need 2-3 for your prenatal dose), you can try taking a pill with each meal. It's also acceptable to try chewable vitamins, like Flintstones or gummy prenatals. Just talk to your doctor about the dosage he or she prefers you to have. ...Read more
How much evening primrose oil do I take? I have bad pmtt/Pms.. Do I take it every day with other vitamins? Vit d and b complex ? Thanks
Avoid bedtime intake: For relief of gerd, avoid spicy & greasy foods, tomato-foods, mints, alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, chocolate, late night meals (& yes even vitamins!) before bed. Doctor can distinguish acid versus non-acid causes of reflux & rule out motility problems of the esophagus & stomach. You may want 1st to try behavior & diet changes above, & assess response to otc acid blockers (h2's are weaker than ppi's). ...Read more
Hi i wanted to ask u if I should take iron tablets i don't know if im anemic but can I take them anyway becouse i took them one and i felt good?
Prenatal vitamins: Some recommend taking prenatal vitamins prior to attempting pregnancy. So it doesn't hurt to start now especially folic acid. Folic acid should be taken early during pregnancy to help with development. Also, generally stop taking them after birth unless you plan to breastfeed. I hope this helps! ...Read more
As needed: Listen to your body. B vitamins are sometimes put in time release preparations and can be taken once a day with meals. Some people respond better to methyl folate (folic acid) or methyl cobalamine in a b complex. Vitamin c does not persist long. If you are experiencing an infection or allergy you can take vitamin c every hour if it is helpful. Vitamin c is best taken with bioflavanoids. ...Read more

Have heard you get sick while first taking fluoxetine. I'm too scared to take my meds. What am I supposed to do if I throw up the medicine if sick?
Take the medicine: Fear of a potential side effect shouldn't stop you from taking the medication in the first place. Your doctor has taken the time to consider all risks/benefits, and has determined that the benefits far outweigh the risks of things like side effects. Plus, most people I've treated with fluoxetine did fine, and only had side effects (if any at all) after at least several days or weeks. ...Read more
I am turning 18 in two weeks; i don't eat much, I am always tired, and i was told that i need to take vitamins and minerals. Which ones should I take?
Many good choices: Vitamins are not a substitute for a good diet but start with a quality multivitamin. See http://bit.Ly/1b36cq0 for independent ratings of 101 brands- any in the top 35 are good. The average adult needs 5-8000 iu of vit d3 in fall ; winter months (year-round if you don't get much mid-day sun without sunscreen)- if you have not been taking d you are almost certainly deficient. I am 16 weeks pregnant, do I need to take maternal vitamins? Yesterday I checked my blood, zinc is low, do I need take some medicine with zinc? Thanks
Yes: It is best to take your prenatal vitamins. Most Prenatal vitamins contain the necessary amount of Zinc required for pregnancy. Please check the ingredients in your vitamins. I am curious, why would you check your zinc level? I have not found it useful in pregnancy or any other time. Doing unnecessary tests brings on unnecessary interventions. Take care. Do not read too much. ...Read more
It depends...: There are many reasons for feeling weak. If you're deficient in vitamins then taking them will help, but if you're anemic you need iron, if you're hypothyroid then vitamins won't help but thyroid hormone will etc. See your doc to have tests like a blood count ; thyroid function to find the cause of your fatigue. Mos docs advise continuing your prenatal post-partum. Everyone should take d in winter. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
