Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever. So stay away from it.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Can I still drink alcohol after bumping my head? CT scan came back normal, only have a slight headache.
Possibly: The correct answer depends of several questions, was there a loss of consciousness? Was a concussion diagnosed? We are realizing more and more that" head bumps" especially bad enough to warrent a CT scan, are not without problems. The brain is a fragile organ, trauma and alcohol are both stressors to good function. Best to consult your treating physician. ...Read more
Friend carried 9 foot inflatable pool float in front of me up stairs. Got hit right on top of head from tail end of float. Didn't hurt. Later developed nausea/headache. Was drinking champagne in sun outside w/o much water. Chance of concussion?
Low: The inflatable pool float could NOT have been so heavy as to cause any visible bleeding, loss of consciousness, or serious injury, could it? I HIGHLY doubt you had a concussion unless you fell down the stairs & injured yourself some other way. More likely, that champagne & heat dehydrated you. Drink plenty of water & fluids, not alcohol. When to worry about consistent headache (temple) (48 hrs). New diet 1200 calories, healthy. Drinking lots of water. Off lots of coffee for 2 months.
Low blood sugar?: 1200 calories is less than most adults' basal metabolic rate, thus low blood sugar could cause this headache. Caffeine withdrawal usually occurs within 6-24 hours of quitting it, so 2 months is too far out for that explanation. Bruxism (teeth grinding), sleep apnea, stress, or other causes of sleep deprivation could also present like this. Talk with your neurologist to get a definitive answer. ...Read more
