Why Do I Get Gas Every Time I Eat Bread
I have diarrhea and gas every morning, I eat about 2 sticks of chalk daily. Usually at nights I eat a slice of bread and some milk. This has been going on for some time I think it has something to do with the bread but I'm not sure?
? lactose intolerant: Many people can not digest milk sugar, called lactose. Sometimes they may drink regular milk by taking an over-the-counter pill containing lactase, the enzyme necessary to digest it. All that milk sugar is a delight to your bowel flora--they ferment it, causing gas and diarrhea. Now, the desire to eat chalk is called "pica", and may be caused by a deficiency, such as iron. See your pcp. ...Read more
Hi question about gas/bloatingWhen I eat sandwich bread I get so much gas I cannot burp it out fast enough. The same happens when I eat chorizo?
Could I be wheat intolerance? Can eat reduced wheat rye bread but get stomach pain and gas when I eat white or whole wheat products?
Possibly yes.: The symptoms you describe sound like you could be sensitive to gluten, a protein that's found in wheat, rye, barley and oats. I can't explain why you can tolerate wheat rye but not white or whole wheat products. They all contain gluten. Your symptoms should be checked out by a doctor. Meanwhile, eat only gluten free grains (corn and rice) and tell your doctor if that reduces your symptoms. ...Read more

Gut bacteria: Digestion problems after a recent illness may be due to alterations of the natural bacteria in the gut. This can occur due to antibiotics taken for an infection or the infection itself. Typically, the natural bacteria will repopulate over time however taking a good quality probiotic supplement may help. ...Read more

Possible: Try gluten-free oat to see if causes the same symptoms. Nonetheless, it would be a good idea for you to consult a doctor regarding these symptoms. ...Read more

Bad gas, rumbling insides but no bloating if I eat bread products, both types. This only started recently, can anyone help me work out what's wrong?
Abdominal symptoms that are triggered by eating bread are suspicious for a gluten sensitivity. If you exclude all gluten and get better, then have difficulty when you reintroduce gluten (EG, wheat products), then you will know that is the cause.
Best to talk with your doctor about this possibility. ...Read more
When off wheat for a day, bloat, gas and pain are gone. Then when I eat pizza and white bread the problems return. Intolerance or allergy to something?
Wheat allergy/gluten: A wheat allergy can go away pretty quickly. The other wheat-related problem that is common is celiac disease or gluten enteropathy. However, most people with celiac dz do not get better with just one day of avoiding wheat. You could have either, or neither. Some wheat problems don't show up in the tests we run, but if you feel better off it, stay off it. Antihistamines may help if it's allergy. ...Read more
I have long time post prandial reflux whre food/liquid comes up w/ burp.GP Rx PPi's. Its helping mostly but mild nausea/wet burp, gas is still thre. No vomiting, mild pinching pain in gastric area sometime. Blood HB/Panc profile ok. Is it Gastric CA?
Very unlikely: It sounds like you are on the right track. The PPIs have helped, but you still have some residual reflux symptoms. This is common and may be improved by diet or other lifestyle approaches (elevate head of bed, etc). However, with persistent symptoms you should have an upper endoscopy (EGD) to assess the esophagus and stomach on treatment, and this procedure would also screen for gastric cancer. ...Read more
Gluten sensitivity: It's quite possible that you have a sensitivity to gluten, a protein found in wheat & other grains. This can manifest as celiac disease. Your family doc can check for this by ordering a few blood tests such as anti-endomysium and anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies. Sometimes endoscopy w/biopsy or pill camera is used to make the diagnosis. Search online for gluten-free diet. Need to be strict. ...Read more
I cough every time I eat bread or crackers chips ect. I have UC and just turned 40. Could I have Celiac disease?
Possible: Coughing as an allergic reaction to gluten is a rare but reported symptom. So, yes you can have Celiac disease, but it needs a total work-up to be a confirmed diagnosis. I'm unable to guess confidently about what UC means, but if it is uterine cancer — your healthcare ought to be carefully coordinated. Don't self-Dx or make major changes w/o advice and consent from the team. Best wishes! ...Read more
This might seem strange but every time I eat like homemade bread from like panera i always start to hiccup and they don't go away till I'm done. Why?
Hiccups: Hiccups result from irritation of the diaphragm. Most commonly, this is from stomach distention. This may be after a large meal, or when one eats quickly consuming large amounts of air. For your purpose, I suspect that the bread you are eating is swelling inside your stomach, and/or, you eat it quickly so you ingest lots of air. Both are leading to stomach distension and diaphragm irritation. ...Read more

Every time I eat a banana, my tongue gets very itchy but not always when I eat something like banana bread. Am I allergic to bananas?
Banana allergy: There is a likelihood that even though you don't react to banana bread, you are still allergic to bananas (and you may even be cross-reactive with avocado, chestnut, and kiwi, as well as latex). I would not be surprised that cooked banana, such as that found in banana bread, would have proteins which are changed from the high heat of cooking, thus causing them not to be allergenic for you anymore ...Read more

Why do I feel sick and my stomach burns every time I eat wheat, bread, cake, pasta? I have a RAST score of 1 for wheat, but I don't think that's it.
Intolerance: There are a lot of adverse reactions to foods, and true food allergy is only one of them. Even when true food allergy is the culprit, blood testing is not always very accurate. The best diagnosis is made by exactly what you have done — keep track of your reactions to figure out which foods cause them. Then there is nothing else you can do but avoid them — there is no treatment that will help. ...Read more

Can i still be 4 months pregnant even though I have a 2 to 3 day menstrual tested negative on 2 pregnancy test I feel queasy often and tired and when im sitting still feel movement I thought it was gas but every time I get still I feel movement
First and foremost you need to be under a doctor's care. If you have an OB you need to contact that doctor right away. If you were confirmed pregnant and now bleeding, your doctor needs to evaluate you. You will need an ultrasound to check for fetal heart tones and for dates (age of your fetus). Honestly with the little amount of information in your post this is my best recommendation.
Good luck. ...Read more
