Benign pos. vertigo: Suspect benign positional vertigo, the most common cause of dizziness. There is a good summary of this on wikipedia. See your doctor for an appropriate work-up and treatment. BPPV?: It sounds like BPPV. This is caused by small stones in the inner ear moving from utricle to semicircular canals where they are not suppose to be .
