Why Do I Feel So Exhausted Even Though I Am Getting Enough Sleep
Is it normal to get a full 8 hrs of sleep at night and still be tired all day? Even after taking a couple few hour naps? I feel so exhausted lately.
I sleep all night, but when I get up in the morning, I feel so exhausted that I am back in bed by 1 pm. I feel so tired that I can't keep my eyes open. My doctor prescribed Adderall several months ago, but there has been no change. What should I do?
Exhausted: First recommendation - have a formal evaluation about your sleep. You might be exhausted because it is not restorative. Need workup: You need a workup to discover what's interfering with your sleep. Many problems can present with sleep disturbance -- depression, anxiety, sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, alcohol or drug abuse, side effects from ongoing medications, etc to name only a few. Many many causes: Possibilities include poor nutrition, sleep apnea, various medical disorders such as anemia, diabetes, or thyroid disorders, psychological factors such as stress and/or depression, and many others. How can I get to sleep fast and easy? Been having a real hard to falling asleep even though i'm exhausted.
Several things: Dont read in bed. Dont' use the computer in bed. Don;'t watch tv in bed. Don't exercise late at night. Don't drink alcohol within 4 hours of bed.
