Why do I feel like my head weighs so much and I can't think right?

Why do I feel like my head weighs so much and I can't think right?

Too much on the mind: With a lot on your mind it's no wonder your head weighs so much. Cramming everything into it certainly confuses things. Unload some of that weight by putting it into words, either on paper or as was done in asking the question, on the computer. Keep asking questions and writing them down until clarity begins to emerge from the "i can't think right" brain making it "i can think right brain". Go!

Headache: Sounds a bit like migraine. They aren't always that painful, but it is common to have impaired concentration and focus. Your doctor can help you sort out what is going on here, and decide if there is anything worrisome for a more serious process.

Mood swin: The psychological changes you are describing require immediate attention. You should be seen by a professional; such as a neurologist or a psychiatrist. An alternative, you should go to an emergency room and explain the psychological changes you are experiencing. I'm not sure what you have, or for how long. You will require an MRI of your brain, I neurocognitive function test, and others. I do not think this is a functional issue, therefore, a specialist should take care of you

Pressure?: I suggest having this medically evaluated. You could start with your family physician, understanding that others may need to be involved also.

(For about a month) Sharp cramping headache, Feeling of fluid moving around inside head, Difficulty thinking clearly. Weak arms/legs Any suggestions?

New headache or old?: One issue about headaches- if they are new, they deserve to be evaluated. If they are old, they may be a common kind of headache. Evaluation should include and interview and physical exam. Often if it is a good idea to consider imaging, such as MRI. The sense of moving fluid is not normally a bad sign, but weakness may be important.

Headache and pressure with liquid feeling in head, difficulty thinking clearly, weakness in arms/legs, shortness of breath, chestpain. Ok heart tests.

Headache and pressure with liquid feeling in head, difficulty thinking clearly, weakness in arms/legs, shortness of breath, chestpain. Ok heart tests.

ER: Headache with weakness in arms and legs warrants a visit to the ER. Good that your heart tests are normal but headache neurological symptoms need to be worked up with more than heart tests. Lycka till (står att du är från Sverige)

At my last ultrasound, my baby's head measured 33cm, belly was 34cm, and femur was 7.9cm. How much does my baby weigh? I was 37 1/2 weeks at the time.

At my last ultrasound, my baby's head measured 33cm, belly was 34cm, and femur was 7.9cm. How much does my baby weigh? I was 37 1/2 weeks at the time.

Ask your doctor: The ultrasound machine will have generated an estimated fetal weight based on these measurements. Your doctor should have that report. That said, this is typically quite inaccurate as it is only within +/- a pound. So a "6 pd" baby on ultrasound can weigh anywhere from 5-7 pounds at birth!

No way to know: It would be great if we could know when patients would go into labor. My life as an obgyn would be so much easier. Instead nature makes us wait and be patient. Normal labor is considered to be between 37-42 weeks. Sounds like you are having a nice, normal pregnancy. Relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The baby will be here before you know it. That's when the hard part starts....

Brief episodes of pulsatile tinnitus left ear only upon standing up? . Multiple normal 3t mri/a cta head neck for headaches. Normal BP and weigh.

See an ENT: Pulsatile tinnitus is due to a change in blood flow in the vessels near the ear. Pulsatile tinnitus can have many causes. If a specific cause is found, this may point to a specific solution. See an ENT for consultation.

Can sinus pressure/problems cause neurological symptoms like difficulty thinking or dizziness? I am also having popping on the right side of my jaw.

Can sinus pressure/problems cause neurological symptoms like difficulty thinking or dizziness? I am also having popping on the right side of my jaw.

Maybe: Certainly can cause dizziness due to inner ear being affected. Pain from sinus pressure can make it difficult to focus or concentrate. Jaw popping most likely due to TMJ issue and not sinuses. You need thorough history and eval by doc to help sort this out for you. Hope this helps. Best of luck. Dr. R

Vocal cord dysfunction vs. Idiopathic environmental intolerance: Could be worthwhile considering vocal cord dysfunction (paradoxical vocal fold movement) as a contributing factor. This condition is often acutely exacerbated by strong scents/odors. More common in females and tends to affect patients with a history of high anxiety. Might be worthwhile getting PFTs and having a laryngoscope performed. Idiopathic environmental intolerance is another consideration but this is a diagnosis of exclusion. There are a number of filters and personal wearable devices that can help the patient deal with exposures in her environment.

I weigh 120 pounds, would my skin get all loose if I lost weight?

I weigh 120 pounds, would my skin get all loose if I lost weight?

Depends: How tall are you? How old are you? Are you overweight for your height? If you are markedly obese and lost weight then your skin will sag from the stretching of the body fat and then loss of body fat. If you were only losing say 20lbs or less, you might not see any skin sagging. The larger amounts you lose, the less firm your skin is after the wt loss.

I weigh about 200lbs, I need to lose 50lbs, can I do that without having sagging skin?

I weigh about 200lbs, I need to lose 50lbs, can I do that without having sagging skin?

Yes: You are young enough that weight loss should cause sagging skin. Use a combination of diet and exercise. Wish you good health! For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
