Hi, : Hi, if i understand you correctly, you sometimes feel lightheaded or nauseated when you stand up or sit up. Although i cannot diagnose you, this does sound like orthostatic hypotension. Sometimes when you get up, gravity causes our blood to pool in our legs, as a result, less blood is making its way up to the brain and you can feel lightheaded. Make sure you get enough liquids every day. Sometimes eater smaller meals more often can help. Get up slowly when you go from lying to sitting or sitting to standing (especially after eating). Ask your doctor to check over your medications, to see if any of them may be contributing to this. ...Read more

Postural dizziness: When you get up, your BP may be dropping mildly, thus causing less oxygenated blood to get to your brain, resulting in dizziness. If you are on BP meds, let you dr. Know. Seems like: you are describing vertigo, usually a symptom of labyrinthitis. Antihistamines such as meclizine can help. Avoid moving your head too much. See a doctor if it persists despite these maneuvers. ...Read more

Dizzy: You may have orthostatic. Are you on blood pressure medications? This may be dropping your blood pressure and making your dizzy. Another cause and the most common is your dehydrated. Bp sitting is 113/81 pulse 80. Standing it is 135/91 pulse 97. Light headed all the time. Should doc know these numbers?

Lightheaded: Its good to provide your doctor with those numbers as they eliminate some sources of lightheadedness. Suggest keeping a journal as to when your symptoms occur, looking for clues you could provide to your doctor when you see him/her.
