Even though I eat proper meals there are days I am hungry and can eat all day. I also take excellent vitamins. What causes my extreme hunger?

Unfortunately: Many things can contribute to the sensation of hunger beyond nutrient levels/signals. In fact, any form of stress to the body can seem to stimulate the appetite, which is likely some of the mechanism behind "emotional eating". If you look closely at those days, where you are exceptionally hungry, you may readily be able to identify factors that contribute to why your appetite is like it is! ...Read more

What would be generally considered a high dose of vitamin c?

What would be generally considered a high dose of vitamin c?

I say 2000 mg: I personally don't recommend more than 2000 mg or so. While your body can't really overdose on vitamin c, since it's water soluble and the body just excretes whatever amount it doesn't need, you can get kidney stones from taking too much vitamin c, hence the limits. ...Read more

Whether high-dose injections of vitamin C is good for skin health?

Whether high-dose injections of vitamin C is good for skin health?

Not recommended: Vitamin C has many purported uses and benefits. There is even some evidence that high dose IV infusion might be beneficial in cancer treatment. But there is no evidence that injections are beneficial for skin health. And there is some evidence that doses greater than 2000 mg may be unsafe. On other hand, TOPICAL vitamin C--skin creams containing vitamin C--might improve wrinkled skin. ...Read more

Due to low Vit D, I was prescribed Vit D. Can high dose of vitamin D cause a period to be missed? Past 4 month cycles were 36,32,37,36. Is irregular?

Due to low Vit D, I was prescribed Vit D. Can high dose of vitamin D cause a period to be missed? Past 4 month cycles were 36,32,37,36. Is irregular?

It is more likely: that untreated low vitamin D levels might affect the menstrual cycle. That said, in my experience, the menstrual cycle is a very sensitive barometer of changes that are going on in the body and I wouldn't be comfortable saying that excess vitamin D couldn't affect the menstrual cycle. Whether missed or irregular? Doesn't really matter...if irregular enough, say 45 days+, it seems missed. ...Read more

Wanted to know where can I find a doctor that treats cancer with high dose vitamin c?

Please be wise: Please be wise and don't waste your time and effort . High dose vitamin c does not work and would not do anything to your cancer. Please go to see an oncologist whom you can trust and discuss in detail about your disease and treatment options. I know that you are trying to find anything that can help you treat the cancer-but high dose vit c is not the answer. It is your life, be wise & think twice. ...Read more

Vitamin d level is low i.e. 21. Dr prescribed high dose vit d supplement.Should l also take K2 and how much? I understand Warfarin may need adjusting

Talk to doctor: If you are on Warfarin, do not take vitamin K2. It is imperative that you address your intake of food, dietary supplements, herbals, over the counter drugs etc with the doctor who prescribed Warfarin. Taking vitamin D3 is safe, but I would recommend taking to your doctor even for that. Wish you good health! ...Read more

My last period, I took high dose of vita C i was told it would jump-start my period cuz it was light, now I'm a few days late for my new period, could the high doses of vitamin c during my period last month thrown off my cycle?

My last period, I took high dose of vita C i was told it would jump-start my period cuz it was light, now I'm a few days late for my new period, could the high doses of vitamin c during my period last month thrown off my cycle?

Not by much,: I don't think. Your body is such a finely integrated machine that I would be reluctant to say it couldn't have ANY affect. Just like even minor illnesses, disruptions in sleep, travel and stress can all impact your period. But water soluble vitamin C, for which any excess is flushed out of your system, should not have had much of an impact. I suggest normal cycle variability. Stay well:) ...Read more

Can I be preg if I got what it seemed to be 2 periods w/ cramps (high dose vitamin c) 6 negative home Preg test... They were taken 9 weeks after sex. ?

HIGHLY UNLIKELY ..: you are pregnant. There are EXTREMELY rare cases where a woman was pregnant and menstruated anyway, but after two periods, multiple negative pregnancy tests, and, I presume, no real symptoms of pregnancy, I think you can rest assured you are not pregnant. Don't go through this again; pursue reliable contraception! Best wishes:) ...Read more

Not usually: But why not replenish this vital vitamin, as it is critical in numerous immunological and hormonal bodily functions, and deficiencies have been associated with numerous problems. Give it at least 3 months, and recheck levels at that point. ...Read more
