Made a sauce but think I have added too much salt can we still eat it or will it make the family sick to eat food that is too salty?
High dietary salt intake is generally associated with hypertension or elevation of the blood pressure, that can in turn affect the heart, kidneys and brain over many years if not treated.
Some people are sensitive to salt more that others. AS a general recommendation reduction of dietary salt intake decrease the risk of heart disease and stroke ...Read more

I hace an 8-week old baby girl that has soundedd congested since she was born. She's not sick(or that I'm aware of) peditrician advised me to use salt water for, humidity" reasons. I found it strange, but tried it. She seemed ro choke every time I put the
Common response: Newborns depend on small nasal passages for breathing. To mouth breathe they must tilt their head back (uncomfortable) until their neck grows longer, about 6m. Nasal wash out to thin the mucous & remove irritants is the standard treatment for congestion. Effective nasal wash out will often trigger babies protective gag reflex or sneezing & that movement of the saline to & for helps wash out irritants. ...Read more
37 yo. Sodium is 144. Anion gap is 20. Not sick. No health conditions. All other bloodwork is normal? Thoughts
Statistics: Sounds like you're not sick and shouldn't worry. Because of the way tests are run and normal ranges are established, a small percentage of normal people may have values outside the normal range and NOT be ill. Basically, if one does enough tests, every normal person is likely to have one or another "abnormaility" while still being healthy. ...Read more

Yes: Gatorade is another option that is electrolyte laden and you might find it more palatable, Although I see you are already on Midodrine so you should not really be also needing to eat salt to treat your POTS. I toke two laxative two night ago a yesterday I felt sick so did a fleet enema (sodium bisphosphate) an it only got small amount out I stay constipated?
Constipation: Not sure what laxative you used. Normally, I would recommend the patient to have adequate hydration, stay active with exercising, eat high fiber diet. In addition, add fiber supplement such as citrucel (one table spoon in 8 oz of water daily). If the above is not improved, add MiraLAX (otc, one table spoon in 8 oz of water, daily to bid). Other agents are linzess, amitiza (lubiprostone). Work close with drs. ...Read more
Anything I can use to rinse my mouth besides salt water after getting wisdom teeth out? It makes me really sick but i also don't want dry sockets.
NO RINSING: Did your dentist or oral surgeon give you post op instructions? Do not rinse! There is absolutely no need to rinse anything out. The rinsing may actually dislodge the blood clot (which remains somewhat soft due to the wet environment). If the clot dislodges you have a much better chance of a dry socket. Any bloody saliva can be gently spit into the sink or toilet. ...Read more
I've been sick with a cold, sore throat, coughing, gagging, I went to an instant care in Salt Lake, yet the doctor said that I'd be feeling better within 2, or 3 days, yet I've now been sick for 6 days now why is that huh? Just wondering!
Course varies: The doctor was giving you a rough estimate. The time course for a cold (which is what your symptoms sound like) varies a lot from person to person and virus to virus. It's not unusual to have cold symptoms for 2-3 weeks. Generally there should be no worsening after the first 5-7 days. If high fever, severe pain, or breathing trouble develop at this point, another exam is needed. ...Read more
Emerg doctor says lung infection, antibiotics. Finished them, felt sick again. Gp says chest X-ray fine, gurgle salt water? Struggling to breathe.
Bronchitis?: A diagnosis of infection in the lung usually mandates evidence of lung tissue involvement by chest x-ray or other imaging studies. Often a sign of stress: Salt cravings are common but yours sounds extreme. The most serious medical problem known to be associated with this is addison's disease, which is due to low adrenal function. While addison's disease is rare, a much more common cause is a less severe form of adrenal stress often called adrenal fatigue, that is related to ongoing stress. Research suggests that in this situation salt can help relieve stress and have some antidepressant effects, but it is not the best long-term way of dealing with the problem. Salt cravings can also simply be a sign of dehydration or cause by fluid loss due to sweating, vomiting or diarrhea. According to chinese medicine theory, salt cravings are signs of imbalances of the kidney meridian (which is related to adrenal problems). Some good information on adrenal fatigue is at http://www.Adrenalfatigue. Org/. ...Read more
