Why do babies like tags?

Why do babies like tags?

Comfort: Many babies like to drag their blankets around by the tag on the corner. They will often chew on the tags of clothing. It is usually a symbol of comfort such as using a pacifier. It your baby seems to have other unusual behaviors, please see a pediatrician for a good developmental screening test.

Why do babies always like the tags on their clothing and toys?

Why do babies always like the tags on their clothing and toys?

Slippery: Who knows, really. But I thought after my first child I should have designed a toy to take advantage of that. But someone else figured it out: taggies - those adorable blankies and toys that are trimmed with tags. I think the answer lies in the fact that the tags are usually satin (nice slippery feel in fingers/mouth) and stick out from the shirt or toy. Appears to universal, though!

What is the use of tagamet (cimetidine)?

Reduces stomach acid: Tagamet (cimetidine) reduces production of stomach acid through blocking h2 receptors on the gastric parietal cell. This helps reduce aid indigestion / heartburn and can help heal erosions of the lining of either the esophagus or stomach. The h2 blockers are not as potent as the proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole.

Can you tell me about tagamet 300 (cimetidine)?

Stomach acid reducer: Tagamet (cimetidine) is one of the older drugs used for stomach and duodenal ulcers. Before tagamet (cimetidine) persons on occasion had to have part of their stomach surgically removed to treat ulcers. Tagamet (cimetidine) significantly reduced stomach acid production allowing the ulcer to heal. It is not quite as strong for a better word as say Prilosec which blocks all acid production but at a low cost tagamet (cimetidine) 300 may be just fine.

Can you tell me about taking tagamet 300 (cimetidine)?

Can you tell me about taking tagamet 300 (cimetidine)?

An old acid blocker: Tagamet (cimetidine), Zantac (ranitidine), Pepcid (famotidine) are H2-receptor blockers, introduced by prescription in late 70's/early 80's. All reduce acid production dose-dependently, & promote drug tolerance (requiring increasing doses of drug to block increasing # of receptors with chronic use). OTC dosing is a fraction of original prescription doses. Similar side effects, efficacy, duration.

Can you explain if it's unsafe to split tagamet 300 (cimetidine) in half?

Probably okay: The original tagamet (cimetidine) was 150 mg the 300 is a double strength. Its best to ask your physician who prescribed it but if this is simply for acid reflux or occasional gastritis its probably safe.

10mg citalopram safe to take with tagamet (cimetidine)?

Should be okay: I think that the combination of citalopram 10 mg with tagamet (cimetidine) should be okay. Stay safe!

Can I give Pepcid (famotidine) and tagamet at the same time?

Pepcid (famotidine) & Tagamet: These drugs work exactly the same way. There would be no reason why Pepcid (famotidine) and tagamet should be taken together. Famotidine (pepcid) is the preferred drug because tagamet has a number of significant drug interactions.

What is the difference between tagamet (cimetidine) and Pepcid (famotidine)?

Very little: Tagamet (cimetidine), zantac (ranitidine), Pepcid (famotidine) are h2-receptor blockers, introduced by prescription in late 70's/early 80's. All reduce acid production dose-dependently, & promote drug tolerance (requiring increasing doses of drug to block increasing # of receptors with chronic use). Otc dosing is a fraction of original prescription doses. Similar side effects, efficacy, duration.

Could I take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and tagamet together?

Yes.: However, tagamet (cimetidine) is an unusual medication these days; other acid reducers work longer in smaller doses.

Is it safe to take Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) in the am and tagamet 200 mg at might?

Yes: Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) is a potent acid blocker that provides excellent 24 hour acid suppression coverage. For patients that have breakthrough reflux at night taking a pepcid, zantac or tagamet at night as an adjunct is safe and effective. Good luck!

How does tagamet (cimetidine) affect free testosterone? Same day of test

How does tagamet (cimetidine) affect free testosterone? Same day of test

Chronic tagamet (cimetidine): Particularly at high dose, can decrease testosterone levels. Use another h2 agent such as Pepcid (famotidine) with doesn't cause the problem.

Hi if your testosterone is raised from tagamet (cimetidine) how long until it declines again?

Hi if your testosterone is raised from tagamet (cimetidine) how long until it declines again?

T is lowered: Tagamet (cimetidine) does not increase testosterone. In fact it blocks testosterone production and allows estrogen levels to increase. This increase in estrogen allows breast development in men - called gynecomastia.

When our son was 11, he had warts on his hands. He took tagamet (cimetidine) orally and this took care of it?

Warts and tagamet (cimetidine): There are both studies and anecdotal reports of tagamet (cimetidine) helping pediatric warts. I have had intermittent success with it, but most pediatric warts respond to chemical destruction painlessly, so I rarely have a need for it.
