Get him to sit still: The biggest problem with 9 y/o boys is getting them to stop moving for a second so you can get a good look. Fortunately, most of them have short hair (justin bieber notwithstanding). Lice don't like short hair, they like to hide, so taking a flat stick (like a clean popsicle stick), go through section by section looking for either lice or small nits attached to the base of the hair follicles. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

My 9 year old son wraps his bed sheet completely around his head when sleeping. Any idea why he would do this?
Comfortable humidity: Your exhaled-air is perfect in moisture balance thus comfortable to the nose during colder/drier months as in many nights of winter. Covering the head traps moisture and thus more comfortable to breath via nose. The sheets are quite thin and air can pass through with ease, thus not concerning for oxygenation problem. Mine kids do same, as I too at times... ...Read more

9 year old son complains of being dizzy and weak and can't sit up straight. Usually after he does some physical activity. Says his head is gonna burst?
Check it out: Weakness, dizziness, headache associated w/ activity always needs checking out. Increasing activity raises heart rate &blood pressure (bp)so dizziness shouldn't happen. But shortly after exercise, it's normal for it to fall quickly. If BP is naturally low to start with, it gets even lower then. If you sit then stand again, BP can take a few seconds to catch up & voila! Head rush! But see md 2B sure. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Tummy and face...: Touch her face and ask if she can feel your touch. If she can, her face is not numb. "numb" means no feeling. If the stomach pain persists, have her checked by her doctor. If no physical cause can be found, consider that with this combination of symptoms, she might be expressing anxiety. Children often manifest anxiety in a physical way. ...Read more
My 9 year old have fine bumps on his face, arms, legs, and back of the neck. What could it be if they have whiteheads on them?
Dry skin?: This sounds like a conditioned called keratosis pilaris which is a condition primarily related to dry skin. My 9 yr old son has been told he has dryeye and allergies! Symptoms r a cough red eyes rolling eyes and head & sniffing? What do u thnk please give info
See a pediatrician: A child who rolls his eyes, his head, and sniffs off and on may have tics, which are exaggerated habits. Of course he may have allergies and dry eyes, too. The allergies and eye symptoms may "encourage" the tics to continue because the symptoms make him sense that there is some discomfort in the eyes.
