My hand is really swollen and i can barely straighten my middle finger, all my fingers are swollen too, what could it be?

Not sure: If it's only one hand, it is something that has affected only the involved hand. In women, carpal tunnel syndrome is very common. The only way to know is for you to see your doctor. ...Read more

See someone: Have either your doctor, an ER or ortho se the hand maybe even X-ray it. There likely is some trauma that occurred, possible so simple you don't recall it. The hand could also be traumatized in sleep . I doubt its a medical condition such as an arthritis but it should be examined for anything such as trauma, sprains even foreign objects. ...Read more

Swollen joints: If one joint was swollen, i would be more likely to recommend er evaluation to rule out septic arthritis; a bad infection that attacks a joint. In your case, you are having pain in multiple joints all over the body. This is more likely indicating a systemic type of arthritis. I would advise evaluation by either your primary physician or a rheumatologist. ...Read more

Why does my hand turn white and tingle? Underneath my hand it itched and i felt a little bump and it happens on both hands. My pinky throbs+feels cold

Does it involve cold: If this occurs when your hand/fingers are exposed to cold, you may have something called raynauds phenomenon. This can occur by itself which is usually not worrisome but can also occur in other conditions such as crest syndrome and other rheumatological disorders. A full history and physical exam is paramount. ...Read more

When i get up in the morning my left hand feels swollen when i bend my fingers but it doesn't look swollen what causes this? Is this of concern?

Joints: Swelling that is subtle may be mainly inside the joints and not detectable externally. It may be a mild form of early arthritis. However, i would not panic. There are other causes possible. See your primary care physician or a rheumatologist. ...Read more

I'm having alot ofpain in my right ring finger close to my hand I can make a fist if I force it. My hand isn't swollen and it hurts to flex my hand.

Ring finger/hand pai: May be ulnar nerve irritation or a form of thoracic out let syndrome. If you rub your elbow it may elicit the pain which may help in diagnosis. Also may have elements of carpal tunnel with pain on wrist flexion. Check that both wrist pulses are present,as, if not and have cold hands it is a medical emergency. Would follow up with doc /orthopedist . ...Read more

I dislocated my elbow last saturday and now my hand is getting really swollen, with a bluish tinge. I can feel my fingers, but it's difficult to bend my wrist up because my hand is so fat. It's 1:30am in the morning. How serious is this? Should i go to th

The : The most important concern is circulation. An elbow dislocation disrupts a lot of ligaments around the elbow. However, there are major blood vessels that cross the elbow, too, which can be pinched, bruised, or partially torn (called an "intimal tear" for the inner lining of the vessel), causing decreased blood flow to the hand. There are a lot of criss-crossing vessels (collateral circulation) to supplement bloodflow, so major injuries may not be obvious. While some swelling and bruising are expected after an injury like this, your hand should have normal feeling and be warm like the other hand. If you check your pulses at each wrist, they should feel about the same. The swelling should go down with elevation. I assume you mean it has been a week since your injury. While a vascular injury is less likely to show up at this point, clots can still happen. If you have any signs of poor circulation, go to the nearest emergency room! otherwise, call your physician to be seen today. ...Read more

This could be related to inflammatory arthritis (such as rheumatoid arthritis), degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis) or other conditions. It is important to be evaluated asap to determine the cause. Rheumatoid arthritis can lead to permanant joint damage within 4-8 weeks if not diagnosed and treated properly.
