After a half hour, usually enough antibiotic is retained or has been absorbed to still be effective. If both doxycycline and metronidazole, don't take them together and take both with food. Probably: Diarrhea should improve now antibiotics xed, if not seek help. The behind is sore from fungus /candida probably 2 ary to antibitiocs. Will improve. Why wait??: Bv is a synergistic infection involving gardnerella and a number of other bacteria. It is treated with Metronidazole oral or intravaginal treatment. Tinidazole and Clindamycin are alternatives. Oral and intravaginal probiotics containing lactobacilli can help. If you have this condition i see no advantage in delaying treatment. ...Read more

Chronic problems: May warrant an evaluation by a vaginitis specialist. If hygiene modification and Flagyl gel or pill has not been working, then their expertise may be needed. Make sure infection has been ruled out. Your doctor can also check for ureaplasma and mycoplasma to see if these organisms are present. The treatment is different. Good luck! ...Read more
