Salicylic acid and its derivatives are keratolytics (agents which cut through skin cells and can thin the skin, reduce the size of calluses and the like). Not a good idea: Try it with the face wash first for several weeks It may cause some irritation at first and your skin needs to become tolerant of it, which can take a month or 2. It may work fine by then and you won't need more. If you don't improve with it, I would see a doc then, and see if an antibiotic for acne would be a better next step than increasing the salicylic acid. ...Read more

Forget this stuff: Nothing you can do on your own is going to touch the acne scars. I'm sorry your acne wasn't treated as it should have been, but you do have the option of getting seen by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who may offer laser work, filler, or microsurgery. Best wishes. ...Read more
