Why Are There Little White Bumps On The Shaft Of My Penis
I've had some small white pimple like bumps on my penis for 3 months. They don't itch or hurt. I've been sexual in the past. They're only on shaft.
May be: Fordyce spots, which visible sebaceous (oil) glands that are present in most individuals particularly on the genitals. It's hard to say though without visualizing the lesions. Your best bet is to at least see your primary care doctor if not a dermatologist. ...Read more
Follicles/Glands: The bumps you are referring to are more than likely the hair follicles of the shaft. There may be prominent oil glands there as well. If these are small and pearl like and not red, on a stalk or causing a problem, it appears you have normal anatomy. One can get warts, orther virus induced lesions such as molluscum, herpes, syphillis and many other lesions on the penis. What you state is normal. ...Read more

What to do if I have little white bumps on the shaft of my penis, how can I get rid of these without seeing a doctor?
Penis bumps: Penis bumps can be many things. Some STDs, some not. Only general advice can be given without a photo or physical exam. Top 2 photos are non-STDs: Fordyce spots (sebum which can be extricated by M.D. or left alone), Infected hair follicle (plucked and kept clean). Bottom 2 photos are STDs (HPV and Molluscum) to be evaluated by your MD so s/he can rule out other STDs and council you for prevention. ...Read more

Hello, I have had two small bumps on the shaft of my penis for about 2 years m/b longer. They haven't moved and my ex was tested as I have been. Help?
For the past several months I have noticed a small cluster of bumps on the shaft of my penis, they are small and I rarely feel them. Smaller when erec?
Could be HPV: While the bumps you notice could be simple hair follicles (look like goose bumps) if you've been sexually active they are probably genital warts caused by the human papilloma virus (hpv). Most sexually active people have been exposed. In women they can lead to cervical cancer which is why they have developed a vaccine. Men usually have the warts for a year and then they disappear. Contagious? Yes. ...Read more

Molluscum: Molluscum contagiosum virus causes a benign viral infection that is largely (if not exclusively) a disease of humans. Molluscum contagiosum virus causes characteristic skin lesions consisting of single or, more often, multiple, rounded, dome-shaped, pink, waxy papules that are 2-5 mm (rarely up to 1.5 cm in the case of a giant molluscus) in diameter. The papules are umbilicated and contain a core. ...Read more

Probably normal: If they have been there "forever" and haven't changed, almost certainly it is nothing harmful and probably normal. Best guess is you are noticiing normal sebaceous glands or hair follicles, which are most easily visible on thin skin, like that on the penis. Show your doctor next time you are scheduled for a routine doctor visit, but in the meantime I really woudln't worry. ...Read more
I noticed small red rash-like bumps on the shaft of my penis in several areas, and it has been itching. Any idea what it may be?
Need to be seen!: Best thing to do is to have it checked by a dermatologist. If the small bumps are dome shaped with a central dimple, it could be molluscum contagiosum. This is a skin rash caused by a viral infection that can spread by sexual contact. Early lesions on the genitalia may be mistaken for herpes or warts but, unlike herpes, these lesions are painless. Have it checked and diagnosed. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Small HPV like bumps on the shaft of my penis, had even prior to sexual activity. Just barely off skin color. Smaller when erect. Any idea? I am 16
Probably not..., but: I assumed you're 16 and virgin. If so, the described lesions may likely be small moles, and its visible relative size may look varying resulting from skin stretch at erection and comparison to the engorged erect penis. So, if they don't hurt you and have no change in their number and configuration, leave them alone. If still in doubt, see expert timely. But ultimate determination relies on biopsy. ...Read more
