Several reasons: There are a couple of reasons. First the trach itself is a foreign body and gets colonized with bacteria, ( that is bacteria grow on and around it) some of these bacteria can make their way into the lung. People with nmd may have a worse cough and are less mobile than others this makes clearing secretions from the lungs more difficult, as the secretions may contain bacteria, infection results. ...Read more

Yes...: This is a safe med combo for treatment of asthma. You should rinse your mouth and spit it out after every Advair dose to prevent thrush, a complication of inhaled steroids. If your asthma exacerbations decrease over time, it is possible that your meds can be reduced (under doctor's supervision) but this combo is safe long-term. Be sure to never smoke! ...Read more

Possibly: This type of medicine may help a bit, but with a feeding tube it may just happen. Positioning the head of the bed elevated to at least 45 degrees may help with reflux and aspiration. ...Read more
