Tape to 4th toe: You may have a broken toe. You'll need an x-ray to know for sure. In the meantime you can reduce your symptoms by buddy taping to the 4 th toe. Put a piece of gauze between the toes nat tape them together. A shoe with a stiff bottom that doesn't bend easily will help as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I stubbed my pinky toe a few days ago and it is very red, swollen, and sensitive to touch. I am not sure if it is broken because there is no bruising.
I stubbed my toe (the one next to the pinky toe) three days ago, and it is still badly bruised. Looks purpleish red, certain areas blackish. It's no?
Buddy taping.: As long as the stubbing has not left your toe with some obscene angular deformity, either up/down or right/ left, your toe will probably do just fine with a minimal amount of help. The blood is from vessels that have obviously been injured. The key now is prevent further injury as well as stabilize the toe so healing can proceed uninterrupted. Splinting seems to work in most cases. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
