Not normal: This could be a sign of carpal tunnel syndrome, circulation problems, heart problems or be related to diet. It can also be the start of an inflammatory arthritis or autoimmune disease. It's a good idea to get checked out. May be nothing serio: It may be nothing serious and if there is no pain, no itching, redness, no fever and it is diffusely spread and not in a localised pocket and only in one hand, see if it will go down by itself, if it persists or other symptoms consult your physician it may be due to allergy to an insect bite. Well icing it might: Help. Also raising yuor hand above your heart will help reduce swelling. But you could also have a stress fracture which might not show up on xray. If the pain persists go see a doctor. ...Read more
