Why Are My Feet Swollen In The Morning
Unclear: If you are waking up with swollen hands and feet every am and this is something new for you then you should probably get evaluated for some underlying cause. Kidney disease or nephrotic syndrome could be a possible cause as well as congestive heart failure. But see your doctor to see if this is the issue. Could also be related to too much sodium or a hypernatremia effect or even an autoimmune dx.
It would be helpful: If you state specifically where they hurt. The swelling part is a bit of a concern as swelling in the morning is not as common as swelling say in the evening. If you were laying down for most of the night then usually swelling is limited in the morning. So does it feel swollen or is it actually swollen? I had bunionectomies on each of my feet 25 years ago, there are wires in my feet, and now I wake up every morning with my feet swollen. Cause?
Probably not thewire: There are several causes of foot swelling including peripheral edema, decreased circulation, venous insufficienty, kidney issues or cardiac issues or even medications & Mg deficiency. Thus, you should get it checked out by your primary care MD and see if leg elevation, compression socks, massage, a diuretic, lemon slices in your water, epsom salt bath or soak or massage are appropriate and can helpSee 1 more doctor answer

Hi Dr., when I wake up in the morning, my feet aren't swollen but they feel heavy as does the lower part of my calf. What could be causing this?
Could be...: This could be simply neuropathy (pinched nerve incited by position, such as lying supine) or something more serious such as reduced blood flow to the extremities (claudication in peripheral artery disease). I'd advise an exam to check for blood flow such as feeling peripheral pulses. You may need more of a workup, including nerve conduction testing or testing to check arterial flow.

I had a lot of alcohol and in the morning I found the palm of my hands and sole of my feet to be swollen and itching. Could this be alcohol allergy?
Unlikely: Ethanol is a sugar. Humans do not demonstrate allergies to sugers, but rather, to proteins. Alcohol is a vasodilator and this could be what is causing your symptoms. Regardless, although it seems fun, try and reduce the binge drinking because it is taking a toll on your health.See 1 more doctor answer
Is it normal for fingers and toes to get red & puffy while walking on a treadmill? My feet sometimes are swollen in the mornings and shoes are tight.
Yes it's possible: Intake in salt in diet can absorb water in tissues over night when you get up and go on treadmill pressure causes swellings, if you don't have any systemic problem pay attention to days you get the swelling to see what you ate the day before.
Edema: Having both feet swollen is typically a sign of edema, resulting from relatively poor circulation (sometimes poor veins, rarely poor heart pumping) and the feet being dependent much of the day. Nutritional deficiency (low protein) and too much salt can worsen. Getting more exercise, elevating your feet during the day, can help. Depending on your age and health, you should see your doctor.See 2 more doctor answers
