Doctor insights on:
Why Are My Feet Stiff In The Morning
Osteoarthritis: Pain and stiffness in the am upon arising are usually due to osteoarthritic changes to the bones of your feet from trauma or aging. Often the discomfort will lessen with movement, and return to plague you then following morning. I would suggest a podiatric consultation to determine the exact cause, and possible treatments, which might include oral nsaia, topical nsaia, or orthotics.See 1 more doctor answer

After spending 8-11 hours standing and walking on concrete floor working I get pain iin my feet and stiffness in my ankles what can I do to stop this?
Care for your feet: Taking care of your feet is very important when you spend long periods of time on them. Properly fitting shoes with good arch supports and sufficient cushion for walking (which is different for running or for court sports) is very important. Also consider additional arch supports (not just insoles which are flat) that go in your shoes. Spenco is one of many brands of arch supports available.See 1 more doctor answer
Suggestions for pain and stiffness on the tops & bottoms of my feet? Bottom been a while and worse in am. Top newer. Very stiff & sore. Not a runner.
Plantar Fasciitis: Possible plantar fasciitis which is inflammation of the plantar fascia. Tightens at night causing pain in am. Rest, ice, stretching, avoid barefoot, good shoes and arch supports can help. See a podiatrist for further evaluation including a x-ray. The doctor can help with cortisone injections, custom orthotics and other treatment.See 1 more doctor answer
Could wearing flip-flops all the time cause the aches and stiffness in my feet and legs? Calves especially tight. Been several months.
Yes: Flip flops provide almost no support. If worn for prolonged periods of activity can lead to many foot conditions and deformities.
What kind of symptoms should I experience after landing on my feet from a 20 ft fall? I don't have any broken bones only muscle stiffness in my back
Fall from a height: Falling from 20 feet can jar the body pretty well. The most common areas of injury after a fall are your heel bone and your back, both can sustain compression fractures. So be sure to get X-rays to be certain there is no subtle injury.
Past 10 months I have tons of leg/foot pain, twitches, & stiffness. I have been to multiple drs & nothing has shown up. When this started I was off my feet for almost 2 months. I have a pinch type feeling in my calf when I walk. What could cause this?
Foot leg pain: Low blood potassium? If you are difficult to get blood from may give you a falsely normal K due to hemolysis.
My hands have been going stiff when I sleep. I am very active and lift weights 4 times a week. Also sometimes my feet will be stiff in the morning?
I have recently begun having stiff and sore hands and feet. My feet feel fat and fragile when first thing in the morning.
Get it evaluated: This needs evaluation to rule out an inflammatory arthritis. See your doctor or a rheumatologist.
What can cause tingling to your mouth, legs, and feet? I have been feeling a pain in the middle of my back to with some stiffness early in the morning
Not a whole lot.....: ....will cause your symptoms in the MOUTH, legs, and feet all at once. Paresthesias can occur in and around the mouth during migraine heaaches but then, tingling and what not usually occurs in the fingers and toes...not generally lower extremities only. You need to be examined to see if the back pain ties to the feet. It for sure ain't gonna tie to the mouth. Good luck.
I am suffering plantar foot pain since two years ago and it moves between different joints of my foot there is no abnormalities in my laboratory tests and radiographies. I also suffer inflammatory signs such as morning pain and stiffness. I hope you could
Morning pain and: Stiffness is not necessarily inflammatory it could be degenerative. You might have plantar fascitiis. You would not expect to find changes in radiographs or labs.,,
Severe joint pain in hands and feet and morning stiffness. Sed rate is norm. So no inflammation. So why do they hurt?
Don't assume. ..: That there is no joint inflammation because sed rate is normal. It's unclear from your note how long you have been experiencing severe joint pain; in the early stages of joint inflammation the sed rate may be normal and even the finding of joint swelling can be subtle. You are in the age group in which Rheumatoid Arthritis may occur. A more sensitive marker for inflammation is the CRP; ask MD.
Severe joint pain in hands/feet morning stiffness numbness. One finger the joint feels like it is sliding back and forth when bending it. What is it?
See your PCP: Severe pain in hands and feet in the morning can indicate an inflammatory condition such as arhritis. The individual finger problem sounds like a tendon issue. The two are not related. A blood test. By your Primary Care doc may anseer the former, a Hand surgeon should evaluate the latter.
Severe joint pain in hands/feet morning stiffness numbness. Rheum fact neg. Do not want a bunch of testing. Can I assume it's from being 36 wks preg?
Maybe: It could be the pregnancy, but you should make sure your OB doctor knows, and is following you. There are many causes of aching joints, or polyarthralgia. Hope this helps!
My rheumatoid factor was negative. Severe joint pain and morning stiffness with numb hands and feet. Should I now be concerned about lupus?
Rheumatoid arthritis: A negative rheumatoid factor does not rule out rheumatoid arthritis. Of course, the differential should include autoimmune diseases, postviral syndromes or metabolic diseases, thyroid specifically, given your history. Talk to your doctor about the next step in managing your symptoms.
What could cause severe joint pain hands/feet morning stiffness other than lupus or RA? My dr is stumped and 5 month wait for rheumatologist
Severe joint pain in hips feet toes hands fingers knees elbows morning stiffness daily 20 mg prednisone no help MRI no inflam ANA 1:320 help?
Try DMSO: DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide)--aka horse liniment--is available at a health food store or feed/veterinary supply. For systemic inflammatory conditions as you apparently have, I suggest one tsp per day orally. It tastes terrible. Mix with a small amount of water, and chase it with something else to kill the taste. Major adverse effect is that you will "off-gas" the DMSO in your breath and sweat.
