See your doctor: Its impossible for us to tell what's going on without a physical exam. I'd see your doctor to have a look. Amongst other things - it could be an otic infection, impaction or foreign body which has become lodged in there. I'd suggest not using the Q-Tips as this might only exacerbate any problem. Feel better & good luck! ...Read more

Hard to say.: If you use Q-tips stop them. Avoid all fragrances and aerosols in environment, because they are skin & respiratory tract irritants (and add to the environmental allergy burden). If an antihistamine helps, then an allergy of some sort is the problem & keep a diary to see if something you are eating, or using is the problem, inc. supplements and over the counter meds. See a doc if this doesn't help ...Read more

Took cephalexin for infection. Now have itchy, flaky skin on my scalp, in my ears, & pelvic area. Allergy meds/creams don't work. Still have inital infection.?

I have yellow oily discharge from my ear. It feels very itchy and the canal feels like it's full. What could it be?

Eczema: A clear, yellow discharge is often indicative of eczematous otitis externa. This can occur if the ear canal is dry or if a person uses Qtips too often to clean the ear canals. This habit is to be discouraged. The ears will accumulate debris and be itchy chronically. Stop Qtips and moisturize the ear. Olive oil or mineral oil can be put in the canal daily after showering.
