Why Am I Sleeping 16hrs Out Of 24 I Take Prozac
Depression: There are two types of depression: one is a depletion of serotonin and Prozac is a good drug for that. The other is a depletion of norepinephrine (ne) and for that Prozac is ineffective. Frequently, but not always sleeping too much suggests that it is a ne depletion and a ne reuptake inhibitor such as wellbutrin (bupropion) is effective. See your docotor to rule out other causes and talk about a switch. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Other factors?: What you have not told us is what time do you go to bed at night and what time do you wake up? If you are consistently sleep deprived then of course you are falling asleep. Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is a slow release medication, it releases slowly throughout the day and lasts 12 hrs or so. I am 43 and experiencing palpitations especially when I lay down. They wake me out of sleep. I have anxiety and take Prozac (fluoxetine) for that but it isn't help?
Common problem: Palpitations can be a sign of all different types of heart arrhythmias. The greater majority are safe & are common to most people at one point or another. There are some palpitations that are more frequent with body position, at night, or during the onset/offset of some medications/foods, but people also tend to notice them more when they go to bed. See your PCP for evaluation & possible test. ...Read more
I've been having night sweats. I'm on Zoloft (sertraline) for anxiety, i drink occasionally and i don't work out. I keep it cool in my room. What's the cause?
Many possiblities: As my colleague dr. Ali said, zoloft (sertraline) is known to cause increased sweating & alcohol might also contribute. There are many other possible causes of night sweats, from hyperthyroidism to food allergies to infections (but acute & chronic)to certain cancers (probably not a great thing to tell someone prone to anxiety) but often we can't find the cause. Please discuss with the doc who prescribed zoloft (sertraline). ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I just started taking Claravaris (week 1, 40mg daily) and I am already experiencing fatigue. Taking coffee seems to have no effect. I wake up and it takes approximately 2hrs for me to feel awake however I'm still exhausted and drowzy. What do I do?
Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Please note that depression is chemical imbalance in the brain and not a moral failing. I am taking 25mg zoloft (sertraline) in AM for anxiety. Its been 4 days now. I wake up frequently during the night. i feel sleepy in the day. When will i feel gud?
Give it time: Although you are taking a low dose of Zoloft, (sertraline) you are still experiencing the effects of a new medicine. Many SSRI antidepressants have early side effects which,go away once your body gets used to the medicine. Unless it gets worse or you experience anything more severe, give yourself another week. If you still have these problems, contact your doctor. ...Read more
I can't remember if I took my nightly dose of Zoloft (sertraline). I take 150mg at bedtime every night. I am experiencing lots of PVC's currently and am anxious. ?
Don't double-up: Try to find a more fool-proof method to remember your medication, but do not take another dose unless it is only a few hours late. Missing one dose should not cause a problem - you have lots in your system from earlier. some (most) of the symptoms you felt so soon were psychologically based - it's the opposite of the placebo (nocebo). Both are quite powerful! You can take today's a bit early. ...Read more

I take .5mg of klonopin (clonazepam) each morning for panic disorder. I'm pretty sure I have the flu because I hurt all over and can't stop coughing. Can I take nyquil now? I took my klonopin (clonazepam) 12 1/2 hrs ago. Thank you.
I have been taking 20mg of Lexapo for 3 months but I think my anxiety increases when I take it. I also take 1 mg clonazepam at night to help me sleep.
Try something else.: Lexapro (escitalopram) is an antidepressant that will help with your anxiety level as well but if you have taken it for at least 6 weeks and you feel that it increases your anxiety, talk to your doctor to see if you could try another antidepressant. The Klonopin is an anti-anxiety medication that can also help you sleep but it can be habit-forming so it can not be use on a long term period. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am 24 weeks pregnant and was weened off of Suboxone by a doctor but am still having trouble sleeping, what can I safely take take to help me sleep?
I am concerned about: what you and your doctor did. The relapse rate in pregnant women with opioid abuse, if taken off agonist therapy, is around 90%. Relapsing to your drug of choice will be far worse than remaining on suboxone, which is very safe in pregnancy, and produces generally a mild neonatal abstinence syndrome than Methadone or street drugs, and in fewer babies. You need to ask your ? to an OB provider. ...Read more

Not advisable: Ativan will commonly cause amnesia. You should not drink in combination with the Ativan, the result can be as you found, but can be more serious including death. Your dose of Zoloft (sertraline) is very low, and not likely an interaction with either the alcohol or ativan. ...Read more
