Depression: There are two types of depression: one is a depletion of serotonin and Prozac is a good drug for that. The other is a depletion of norepinephrine (ne) and for that Prozac is ineffective. Frequently, but not always sleeping too much suggests that it is a ne depletion and a ne reuptake inhibitor such as wellbutrin (bupropion) is effective. Common problem: Palpitations can be a sign of all different types of heart arrhythmias. The greater majority are safe & are common to most people at one point or another. I take 60mg Prozac each morning and 20-50 mg of adderall a day and 2mg of Xanax (alprazolam) at night to sleep. Xanax (alprazolam) isn't helping can I take on more 1mg tonight!

Stop the madness!: You are on major medicines from a competent physician and are asking doctors who don't know you for permission to take more meds??? Sleep is necessary for good health and disrupted sleep needs to be treated. Perhaps your meds are causing the insomnia, or stimulant drinks, or stress, or psychiatric disease itself. Prozac (fluoxetine) can be: Used for anxiety ; trazodone can be used off-label for sleep if your medical provider prescribed them for you to be used together. Ssri's and trazodone are often prescribed together. I currently take lamictal 10mg, Prozac 20 mg, Latuda (lurasidone) 20mg, vyvanse 70mg, and Wellbutrin 300mg but can't sleep still?!?! And mood are all over still.

When do you take?: Diagnosis? Lamictal and latuda (lurasidone) for mood stabilization? Both are subtherapeutic dose. Prozac and Wellbutrin are antidepressants and may increase mood variability. Vyvanse is stimulant. Bipolar d/o and ADD overlap as far as symptoms, but rare to have both and treatment very different. All but latuda (lurasidone) can be stimulating and should be taken in am.
