Analgesics: Tylenol, Ibuprofen help with body aches (myalgias), but incompletely effective. If <48hrs, dr. Might give tamiflu. Try a warm bath, vaporizer, lots of fluids, throat lozenges. Influenza is a miserable illness. If you haven't been vaccinated, i'd advise you to get it. There are 3 strains of influenza-so, you could theroretically get influenza 2 more times this season. Flu: You have to differentiate between 2 things that may happen after flu: one is bacterial infection ( staph pneumonia) which usually presents with high grade fever, chills, cough w\o chest pain. Does sound like flu: Take your temperature after 4 pm (when fever shows itself). Use an ear or temple device or, if you use an oral thermometer, be sure not to eat or drink for 30 minutes beforehand.
