After wisdom tooth extraction, the neighboring tooth and the ear hurts real bad. It has been 8 days since extraction.
Depends: I'm assuming you mean on your lip and chin. If this is the same day as surgery, that could be local anesthetic. If it is several days later, there may have been some injury to the sensory nerve. This usually gets better on its own, but it is best to inform your surgeon as they know all about your individual situation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
2 wisdom teeth(left) removed 3 weeks ago. When brushing teeth, hand slipped, hit the back of cheek, started feeling some numbness in lower jaw.Worrisome?
Will removing all wisdom teeth (one impacted) cause my teeth to shift? I'm 18 and just got braces the day before surgery. They also pulled one tooth.
Shifting: Wisdom teeth contribute perhaps 10% to instability of anterior teeth. Make sure you follow retainer instructions to the letter after braces removed. Of concern is 1) Difficulty in caring for wisdom teeth and surrounding gum tissues, and 2) The damage to bone and adjacent teeth that impacted teeth can cause. Ask your Orthodontic Specialist for his/her opinion. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Impacted wisdom teeth removed 8 mo. Ago. Noticed face is no longer symmetrical after. Does removal of wisdom teeth affect shape of the face? Why do some dentists say "yes" and others say "no"?
No: This should have no bearing on your facial structure there are many other structures (bony - zmc-zygomatico-maxillary complex, mandible; muscular -masseter, buccinator & overlying soft tissue) & the presence or absence of an erupted or impacted wisdom tooth is inconsequential). One exception - I have seen one case when the buccal fat pad was violated & was removed unilaterally with slight assym. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Nerve issue: The nerves to the upper front teeth run along the nasal floor and drop to the teeth through a small foramen behind them so it would be hard to injure these nerves with wisdom teeth extraction. The nerves to the lower front teeth pass through the lower jaw and can be close to wisdom teeth and be damaged. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

How long does referred pain in other teeth last after wisdom teeth extraction? I am day 11 post op and feeling pain in two teeth nearby.
Not typically: Your face should return to its normal configuration after the teeth are removed and the swelling goes down. It is possible that if there was some preoperative swelling or the teeth were situated in such a way that the face was more full in appearance that once removed that fullness is lost....And the face appears narrower. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
