It can: Almost all dietary programs work to help you lose weight. The programs start with extra degrees of encouragement and motivation and this is how weight watchers also works. The problem with all dietary programs is sticking to it over time. Most who lose weight, will gain it back unless they have superior will power and self control.
Very good program: I fully support weight watchers and other programs that help people with weight loss. The have had great success in some of my patients and clinical trials show benefit. The biggest hurdle is persuading people to stick with any weight loss program over several years and I think weight watchers is as good at this as any other. Many patients with severe obesity may need drugs or surgery too.

No Limit: I don't think there is an age limit. You may be required to have a phyicical exam with your doctor if you have serious medical conditions otherwise there is no age limit. Little children would most likely not be good candidates.

Possibly: Weight watchers is a very good weight loss plan. It promotes a healthy and sustainable way to lose weight and keep it off (most important). There are other programs that can do this as well, but I believe weight watchers does it the best, in terms of an actual plan.

Well, here's the: Thing. Spot fat loss does not occur naturally. By losing weight in general some will probably be bust fat. But, we don't get to choose what area of body fat is lost from. Eat healthy ; be physically active. Calories burned must > those consumed. Weight watchers is a reputable organization if you wish to lose weight.
