I have acute lymphadema in my right leg, what can I do other than wrapping to bring the swelling down some days the discomfort is unbearable?

I fell and hurt my knee. It was swelling and it hurt so I put it up, wrapped it in a tensor bandage and iced it. Should I wear the tensor to bed?

Usually not: This is usually not necessary. The downside of the bandage is that it may impede proper venous (blood) drainage from your leg leading to swelling. At night, you may not realize this is happening. ...Read more

You : You may have torn a ligament. Ligaments don't show up on routine x-rays, so the only way to "see" them is by having an MRI of your ankle. Unlike bone, ligaments receive a poor blood supply, so they take a long time to heal. If you have a little tear and have been walking around all this time on it, that could explain why you're still having a problem. I would encourage you to get an MRI and see what's going on with your ligaments.

Good luck! ...Read more
