Diagnosed acute pharyngitis, 12 days since, fever gone, sore throat gone. Still red spots roof of mouth, white tongue remain. Should I be concerned?
No: Acute pharyngitis is usually a viral infection. I wonder if your PMD put you on an antibiotic. If so, the white tongue could be a fungal infection. Red spots on the palate still could be the viral infection that persists. Do not be concerned, but if the spots persist see either your doctor or a specialist in oral medicine. ...Read more

Dr. Can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). It is a long time to be experiencing fatigue and have this coating and cough. Need blood tests and a physical exam to assess reason. Please see your doctor soon. ...Read more
Severe sore throat pain, sore tongue. Tiny red spots throughout the mouth. Mainly inside on cheeks. Dr said bad sinus? Could be the methotrexate I take?
These don't sound like symptoms of sinusitis. Maybe viral pharyngitis. But you may be on the right track, i.e. oral mucositis (inflammation of mucous membranes of the mouth), a well known side effect of many chemotherapeutic drugs, including methotrexate. Discuss with the doctor who prescribed it.

I don't have a sore throat but my palate is sore and there are 2 big red spots just above the uvula. Swallowing isn't difficult but hurts my mouth?
Possibly viral: If the red spots develop into what look like small blisters or ulcers, then these are almost certainly viral in nature. If the red spots are almost pinpoint, deep red and spread, and the back of the throat gets more red, this could suggest strep throat. Either way, if there is no improvement in the next 2-3 days, or if your symptoms worsen, you should be examined by a physician. ...Read more

Viral pharyngitis: It looks viral, but the description is not diagnosis. A rapid strep test would be necessary. Pharyngitis: Difficult to understand why you were given a Rocephin (ceftriaxone) shot and placed on Keflex when your strep test was negative. The sore throat and cough began just recently but the red spots along the back of my throat have been there for a very long time. Was told it’s not strep. What could the bumps be and will they go away?
Viral?: The bumps at the throat can be caused by post-nasal drips or reflux irritation. At your age, allergic rhinitis and/or sinusitis may be the cause.
