I have 6 spots on my left knee which itch a lot. Do you have any idea what they could be?

Get it checked: Are they new? Perhaps you have an allergic skin rash, or a local infection. Apply cool compress. to see if that gives some relief. I would not apply any medicines to the skin if there is broken skin, rash or blisters until you have been checked. The medicines might aggravate your symptoms or muddy up the appearance making accurate diagnosis impossible. Hope that helps. ...Read more

I have had an intermittent sensation of a cold, wet spot just below my left knee, on the outer side. Not actually wet, just feels that way. Causes?

Sensation: When people describe things with warm or cold or wet or burning, I usually think about the cause as something neurological in nature, such as a pinched nerve or compressed nerve somewhere. Especially if you have not had any trauma to your knee. Sounds like you need to get an an evaluation from your doctor . ...Read more

I woke up at night with my left leg feeling swollen and numb. It was gone next morning. There is a sore spot behind and below my left knee.

Leg swelling: If true swelling of the leg occurs and there is discomfort or tenderness behind the knee or in the calf, phlebitis is a concern and a leg ultrasound is recommended. A Baker's cyst is another possibility. In any event I feel that you should be examined by a physician and he/she will order any appropriate tests. ...Read more

What are the symptoms of having a medial extrusion in the left knee? Would this be a mensicus tear? Does this require surgery? Pain on the medial side

What are the symptoms of having a medial extrusion in the left knee? Would this be a mensicus tear? Does this require surgery? Pain on the medial side

Prob Meniscus: Although the phrase "medial extrusion" is an unusual description of a condition of the knee, it sounds as if you are dealing with a medial meniscus tear with instability of the meniscus. Most meniscal injuries/tears will not heal on their own due to the lack of blood supply. Surgery is therefore often indicated. See an orthopaedic surgeon for evaluation. ...Read more

Lately i've had tightness and some dull pain behind my left knee. The symptoms worsen throughout the day; first thing in the morning it's fine though.?

Knee pain on standin: Pain in the back of your knee that worsens as the day goes by and resolves overnight is typically due to a bakers cyst. This is a fluid filled sac that forms in the popliteal fossa, which is a space behind your knee joint. It will cause you pain and a felling of fullness, but should not cause leg, knee or calf swelling, redness or heat. Any of those symptom need evaluated by your doctor. ...Read more

See details: The issues would be unrelated unless the ibs was actually misdiagnosed and the GI issues are really either crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. I suspect you really have inflammatory bowel disease and not ibs. ...Read more

Could early arthritis cause pain in the middle of my left knee when i kneel it.I have no other symptoms such as swelling, hot sensation or stiffness?

Could early arthritis cause pain in the middle of my left knee when i kneel it.I have no other symptoms such as swelling, hot sensation or stiffness?

Chondromalacia: Early arthritis could cause pain with kneeling, especially if the cartilage on the undersurface of the kneecap (patella) is damaged. This is called chondromalacia. Some people call this early arthritis but it does not necessarily progress to arthritis (which is the total erosion of the cartilage). X-rays and MRI can help make a diagnosis so the appropriate treatment can be prescribed. Good luck! ...Read more

Yes: Large local reactions are a bit more worrisome. Say u r stung on the ankle, if the swelling goes up to the hip then the person really should see an allergist for testing. Especially since most people almost never know what stung them. It is important, though, to wait 6 weeks after this sting for testing. ...Read more

Torn left knee meniscus twice, torn right achillis tendon, and symptoms of right knee meniscus tear after mri, no trauma, what could be the cause?!

Some activity: You do not have to have a specific injury to cause a meniscal tear. Sometimes the meniscus can degenerate and tear from repetitive activities such as running basketball and other pseudotraumatic sports i would work a lot on strengthening and plyometrics to help prevent further problems. ...Read more

What reason could be for ALT 60; abs eosinophils 680; co2 31test results, symptoms - chest pain, chronic dry cough, left knee swollen & painful?

No easy answer: You're on Methotrexate and this itself may account for your elevated liver enzymes. The trivial elevation of your eosinophils isn't going to be helpful. If you're on this medication, it's likely to be for joint disease known best to you and your physician. Please forgive me, but your having to ask healthtap tells me you need to ask for better communication from your treating physician. ...Read more
