Dry skin eczema: Nummular (coin shaped) eczema is extremely common on the lower legs. Dry skin starts the condition, and scratching (excoriation) worsens the itch and rash. Usually, a topical steroid is required, often a strong prescription steroid. If your condition worsens with steroids, ringworm (tinea corporis) must be ruled out. How large: This can be many different skin rashes. We need to know the size, is it flat or thickened, is it painful, does it itch etc. Sometimes a black and blue injury can change to yellow as it heals. It is best diagnosed by a dermatologist. Tricky: dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them. I go with the process occurrring (which could be infection or insect mediated) and the location to give clues. Bites, ringworm, even syphillis are possible. many other possibilities i Psoriasis if it has scaley parts is possible; eczema if itchy. Hard to tell: It would be very difficult to tell for sure what those spots are without seeing them, particularly in person. It could possibly be eczema, an allergic reaction to a soap, detergent, perfume, or jewelry, or even a fungal infection. Need more info...: And i advise waiting for the official radiologist or nuclear physician report. What is seen on the technologist screen is not of the same quality as the physician interprets.
