White Spots On Heart During Stress Test
Echo stress test for slow heart rate exercising Have had shotness of breathe and chest tightness. Found spots on heart during test. What does this mean.
Stress affects most people in some way. Acute (sudden, short-term) stress leads to rapid changes throughout the body. Almost all body systems (the heart and blood vessels, immune system, lungs, digestive system, sensory organs, and brain) gear up to meet perceived danger. These stress responses could prove beneficial in a critical, life-or-death situation. Over time, however, repeated stressful situations put a strain on the body that may contribute to physical and psychological problems. Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Fortunately, research is showing that lifestyle changes and stress-reduction techniques can help people learn ...Read more
Why would a doctor on this site refer me to an oncologist after I asked why I saw dark spots on my heart during a echo stress test?
Dark spots?: Hopefully you had normal cardiac function on the stress echocardiogram test. Sometimes an echocardiogram will show "dark spots" near the heart. These might be enlarged lymph nodes that should be evaluated by additional studies (CAT scan of the chest) and it is also reasonable to see an oncologist since there is a slight chance the lymph nodes could represent lymphoma. ...Read more
Depends: It depends on which type of stress test is done. If you are able, you will probably walk on a treadmill. If not, a medication will be injected into your vein. The doctor will examine your ekg and some pictures of your heart obtained by injecting slightly radioactive material into your vein. Sometimes, an echocardiogram is done instead of the injection. ...Read more
Hello, Are heart flutters during very strenuous exercise dangerous? I've been checked out by a cardio but no stress test before. Thx
Perhaps...: Feeling your heart beat fast during exercise is normal, but the term "flutters" would imply some abnormality. A stress echocardiogram will help clear up what's going on with your heart during exercise, and could be helpful if you're embarking on an intensive exercise program. ...Read more

I get a small sharp pain in left bicep during and right before ejaculation. I recently had a nuclear stress test and heart looked strong?
The fact you have a negative stress test makes a cardiac cause less likely. I would see if this occurs in different positions you may be using these muscles to brace your body. As would be in the missionary position with you on top/
If you are still concerned talk to your cardiologist to be sure. ...Read more
Sensation in left side of chest. Happens during both activity and rest. Not constant. EKG, stress test, enzymes, and xray all good. Heart issue?
Felt nauseous and short of breath during exercise. Diagnosed with GERD after normal chest x ray, ECG echo stress test. Panic attack GERD or heart?
Most commonly GERD:
With normal CXR, ECG and echo, findings are less likely cardiac.
Exercise has been known to trigger reflux. Figure out if its your routine (crunches on a full stomach), or diet (aggravating foods, coffee, OJ). Try some PeptoBismol before exercise to see if chnages.

An ECG is done whil: It starts with a resting blood pressure and ECG before ewalking on a treadmill or cycling at a slow speed. I quit doing stress tests 1995; for better protection options. ...Read more

For two years I've been having issues with my heart racing for no reason. My stress test was negative. Should I be concerned?
Heart racing concern:
If heart palpitations are your only symptom, most likely you should not be concerned. Common causes would be dehydration, anxiety, intake of stimulants (e.g. caffeine, nicotine, etc.). Another less likely cause would be Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. This would need to be diagnosed with an event monitor.
If you are experiencing other symptoms of anxiety, contact your PCP for an evaluation. ...Read more
What do you recommend if I had 2 stress test done a exercise one and a thallium one on both my heart rate dropped wha could cause it?
Thallium?: You said "thallium" but perhaps you meant adenosine or lexiscan? - these two agents are used to perform a stress test in which you don't have to exercise, thus in contrast to your first one. Both agents can cause the heart rate to drop as a side effect which has no prognostic significance. ...Read more
Had a nuclear heart stress test. Right after, dr. Did my hida scan on the gallbladder. Did not give more nuclear stuff. Will this affect hida results?
Unusual but okay: Nuclear cardiac stress test is a nuclear imaging method that shows how well blood flows into the heart muscle, both at rest and during activity. This uses a radiopharmaceutical, such as thallium or sestamibi. However, tc-99m sestamibi, has relatively high liver uptake and studies have utilized this for assessment of gallbladder contraction also. (j gastrointestin liver dis, 2007; 16:157). ...Read more
