Can red pepper take a few days to fully get out of your colon?I saw 1-3 small red spots in my stool for 2 days now had red peppers in a dinner Friday
The average time it takes for food to transit through our GI tract is about 50 hours, but can vary from a few hours to a few days. Red pepper may not fully be digested (esp. if it is dried flakes) and thus might show up in the stool.
If this was bleeding, bright red blood usually comes from the rectal area and would not look like flakes.
Blood from further up the GI tract is usually very dark. ...Read more

I get cramps and diarrhea when I eat bell pepper, recently I experienced the same symptoms when eating fresh jalapeño. Is it a food group intolerance?

This is ok but if you really want to lose weight you might avoid the bread as less carbs will help; some feel gluten causes obesity so rice or quinoa might be better. I strongly advise organic chicken - see http://bit.Ly/19xax7e for the reasons.
My favorite diet for weight loss and overall health is dr. Fuhrman's nutritarian diet- see http://bit.Ly/1dhw9ht

Whats going on? I have always been able to eat raw potatoes... Until this year, same with bell peppers, bananas and raw vegetables. They make my mouth and throat itch now and just the other day i ate a piece of bell pepper and my throat swelled up. What's
I : I can't tell you. However, i might be concerned about possibly having developed a food allergy. Cayenne pepper contains capsaicin which can cause inflammation of mucus membranes. However, you said you ate a bell pepper. If you ever again develop swelling of your throat, that is a real medical emergency because it can cause your throat to close down which would prevent breathing. I recommend that you see an allergist to help determine what is going on, and int he meat time, i would avoid eating anything which makes your mouth or throat itch or swell. I would have asked if the foods were sprayed with the same pesticide, but you included bananas too. ...Read more
