Herpangina: Read about this and see if it is a match. Any pharmacy can give you a topical oral anesthetic, which is all that will help if this is indeed herpangina.

See your dentist: The tongue naturally has bumps known as papillae and those on the back of the tongue are larger than those on the front. However, if the bumps on the back of the tongue appear to be growing or changing shape or color and has white spots they should be investigated to determine what is wrong.

What could cause white spots on my throat and a red patch on the roof of my mouth?

What could cause white spots on my throat and a red patch on the roof of my mouth?

Needs to be seen: These types of situations require a personal visual examination and evaluation. Merely giving you a list of possibilities serves no real purpose. If you want to know what you have and what would be the appropriate treatment, if any, you will need to see a physician.

Dry mouth and white spots on tonsils. Throat culture negative. What could it be?

Mucous deposits?: Dry mouth could be the cause. You did not say whether or not your throat was sore and if not then there should not be any problem with the tonsils. I would be more concerned about the dry mouth and find out the cause. Many common prescription and otc meds can cause it and the condition could increase your risk for cavities and gum disease.

My daughters throat hurts, has white spots in the back, and her mouth is really dry, and horrible headache, does she have tonsillitis?

Tonsillitis: She may have tonsillitis or pharyngitis, inflammation of the back of the throat. White spots can be caused by many different things, including bacteria like Strep, and viruses like that causing hand, foot and mouth (coxsackie virus). A throat culture and exam by her doctor should help determine the cause.

Probably nothing: There are a lot of thing like sinus drainage and even food that cause white spots on your uvula. If you symptoms worsen I would get it checked.

Herpetic primary gin: Your first outbreak of a herpes infection manifests these symptoms. Primary herpetic gingeva stomatitis has all these classical symptoms. An anti viral med could help but most symptoms take 10 - 14 days to disappear. Feel better!

Hi, I have a painful tonsils this morning and it seems my throat has white spots similar to when I had strep B last year.

Hi, I have a painful tonsils this morning and it seems my throat has white spots similar to when I had strep B last year.

You probably have: It again or could have Strept A. Seek a health care provider for testing. You don't want to go untreated and risk rheumatic disease if it is Strept A.

My throat got soar 4 days after kissing my bf and he got tested and he's clean but I still have white spots on my tonsils what is it and how I get it?

Rule out Inf Mono: What do you mean "he got tested and he is clean? " if he has infectious mononucleosis (eb virus) he may have already developed immunity and passed the virus on to you. Infectious mononucleosis is common in your age group and is transmitted exactly as you describe. It could, of course, be any viral infection. I would advise a mono spot test.
