Got a bad sunburn months ago, it started to peel & I peeled it before it was ready. Now I have tiny, white spots covering my chest that won't go away.
Sun damage: Those "white spots" are likely areas of low pigmentation brought about by damage to the melanocytes (cells that make pigment) from the sunburn. It may take a year for them to kick back in and for your skin to look normal color again. In the meantime, make sure you use sunscreen daily and pamper your skin in next few months with moisturizers and avoidance of irritants. ...Read more
I had a sunburn and I started peeling it kind of stopped but some of my skin is tan and with white spots will it stay 4 ever?
Not likely: Sunburns with peeling often will leave the skin with pigment alterations. Unless the sunburn was very severe, it is unlikely that the pigment discrepancy will be permanent. However, to give your skin the best chance to return to normal, please wear spf 30+ sunscreen to the areas. Any sunlight exposure on skin with pigment alterations will make it more likely to be long lasting or permanent. ...Read more
Got a fairly severe sunburn, it started to peel & I peeled some skin prematurely. Now I have tiny, white spots covering my chest. Are these permanent?
No if care immediat: Sunburns are different types and not all people equal. The darker the skin type 6 are less prone and type one with least melanin pigment get the worst. Peeling is a natural hpmeostasis mechanics trying to get rid of dead epithelial cells and build new. I recommend keep area covered with sterile gauze and use topical antibiotics and silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) cream. You may need systemic antibiotics. See MD. Now ...Read more

Skin changes: It sounds like you need to visit a dermatologist. There is a possibility that you may have Tinea versicolor, which is a non-contagious fungus which causes light or dark circles which may coalesce into larger areas. It is important to wear sunscreen and avoid sunburn. Sun damage can lead to serious skin conditions including skin cancer. Remember to protect yourself from the sun. ...Read more
Hi. I've notice several white spots on my skin after sunbathing.I use sunscreen + had not had sunburn.Size varies they're symmetrical. No Itching?
See Your Doctor: Sun exposure causes production of the pigment Melanin which both darkens the skin (tanning) and absorbs harmful UV radiation. Certain medical conditions can impair the skin's ability to tan. Additionally minor skin trauma, rashes, infections, & more may cause temporary lack of tanning in affected areas with recovery over time. See your doctor for proper evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. ...Read more

I have a sunburn and I am using aloe Vera and I'm peeling and seeing white spots. Should i be worried? Is there anything i can use to make not visible
Dead skin cells: Unfortunately, a skin burn is 'bad news' for the skin- it's damaged and now sloughing off... so you will see the dead skin particles coming off. There's not much you can do about that... aloe might 'mask' some of the dry flakiness by adding moisture. The real issue is prevention of sunburn in the first place. It can damage skin longer term and cause cancer with repeated sunburns. See derma if Q's. ...Read more

I have been previously sun burnt a few times on my back. Lately I have found small white spots on my shoulders. Any ideas what it could be? Dangerous?
A few possibilities: This is likely to be a benign, treatable condition- both tinea versicolor (a mild fungal infection) and vitiligo come to mind. A totally flat, hypopigmented lesion is relatively unlikely to represent skin cancer. See your pcp or dermatologist to confirm diagnosis and discuss treatment. ...Read more

Suspect: Tinea versicolor. See skin drGet a more detailed answer ›
Ask your doctor: I would see a dermatologist who can determine if that is a normal after effect or actual cancerous indication. He/she would best be able to say based on your health and medical history, skin care etc. Stay out of the sun and wear sun screen as even a little exposure can be hurtful. ...Read more
I've had a sunburn through the summer & it's all patchy because of the sand and missing certain spots with sunscreen. Is this dangerous?
Normal Process: As injured skin heals, the body creates inflammation which means fresh blood goes to the area and with it, many kinds of healing factors and cells. One type is called melanocytes which carry our skin pigment melanin. A healing occurs, these cells may or may not return to the area and give it the brownish or lack of coloration you see. There might be some changes as the injury matures. ...Read more

Depends: I dint know the severity of these burns. If it was a simple first degree sunburn red, tender, warm peeling then I doubt you should worry. If the burn was more severs blistering then it is more possible to develop a secondary infection. Watch out for worsening pain fever chills and thicker fluid coming from the areas. If so see a physician immediately ...Read more
Hello. Years ago I was sunburned on my chest. I took care of it and it got better. Now, years later, I noticed that I have a couple of brown spots.
Received a severe sunburn in June to back, shoulders and top of chest. Blistered and peeled for weeks. Now have brown spots appearing. Is this normal?
Missing sunburn :
One obvious explanation for the missing sunburn on other sots may that they were covered by some clothing or sunblock. If you have been on beach/ in water, depending upon the angle of UV rays falling on your body, certain part of body can be more affected than others.
It is always a good idea to remember using sunblock creams (with SPF>30 and water resistant if need) before exposure to UVsunlight. ...Read more

The tip of my ears got sunburned it has pealed but there is small brown spots could this be cancer or just a freckling ?
Sunscreen: If the sunburn just recently occurred and this is the first major sun damage to the area it is highly unlikely for any cancerous lesion to be present as the type that is most common (basal cell carcinoma) is the result of repetitive significant sun damage. Monitor the area and be sure to use sunscreen daily of at least SPF 30 and look for one that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. ...Read more
