Hard to tell why I have this tiny transparent round spot in my mouth just around my lip & when it bursts it's got a salt sweet taste happening often?
Mucocele?: It sounds like it is a mucocele, which is the result of a blocked minor salivary gland duct. Some fluid accumulates in what appears to be a small round bubble-like sac. You can pop it with a sterile pin or needle or see if it just goes away on its own. To be sure that is what it actually is, have your dentist take a look at it. Google it for more information.

Sun block is key: Skin lighteners such as kojic acid, hydroquinone, and plant extracts should only be used if proper sun protection is used. Over the counter products are safe and generally contain 2% kojic acid which limit their effectiveness. They work by blocking the production of melanin which is the natural pigment in the skin cells. Always check with a dermatologist to make sure there are no contraindications.

Dark spot: Benign causes are labial melanotic macule, normal nevus, venous lake, graphite tattoo, external stain. Melanoma is always considered. If the spot is asymmetric, irregular border, irregular color or changing, seek evaluation promptly.
See if it persists.: You need to show it to your family doctor or dentist. If it is more than a dime in size and if it is a pigmented lesion (black or brown in color) you should get it checked by your doctor or a dentist. If it goes away in 2-3 weeks, then you may not need to do anythjing further. But if it persists you should remember it can be a melanoma which will require a doctor exam and if suspicious a biopsy don.
