White Spot In Uterus Found On Ultra Sound
My ultra sound revealed 3 small fibroids and no thickening of uterus. I am 55 and in early menopause and still spot. How often should I have ultsound?
1-2x/year, or as nee: Depending on where the fibroids are (if not involving the inside lining/endometrium) - they probably aren't causing the spotting, the thin lining is very reassuring that u don't have endometrial cancer. If you continue to have spotting, then periodic (annual or 2x/yr) sono's may be helpful. If it bothers u (spotting) then u could look into tx's (an ablation, or other procedure). ...Read more
Can a ultra sound mistake the size of a tumor on uterus? I've heard a woman was told hers was small and it ended up being 30 pounds after removal.
You will need to ask: There are many reasons to do an ultrasound. You would need to ask your doctor why you specifically need one. We can answer general questions but do not have access to your specific health information. If you are having problems with your period or something abnormal was felt on exam then maybe the doctor wanted to evaluate it. ...Read more

I did my ultra sound and came to know I have retroverted uterus does retroverted uterus can effect in concieving and anything to make introverted?
What does an ultra sound that says normal uterus but very heterogeneous with a few poorly defined fibroids mean?
May mean adenomyosis: Difficult to say for sure. You should discuss findings with your doctor. I often see pelvic ultrasounds describe significant heterogeneity which is due to adenomyosis but called fibroids instead. They are both benign conditions and both cause similar symptoms (and you could even have both). A pelvic MRI is a good way to answer this but first talk to your doctor to explain the results. ...Read more
Dr. Concerned about clots seen via ultra sound, in my uterus after 9 weeks postpartum? Could this be life threatening? Follow up on wednesday
Not likely: This isn't likely to be life-threatening. But it's possible that there is a piece of placenta left behind and a removal of the tissue and clots may be needed. As long as the bleeding isn't heavy and there isn't a fever, it just needs follow-up but isn't likely to cause major trouble. ...Read more

I Got an ultra sound yesterday the doctor said the lining of my uterus was thick and I had a possible what looks like a sac. Does this mean im preg.
It could: But it is too early to tell. I'm sure they told you they would want to do a repeat ultrasound soon. Follow up is essential to determine what this is. Hope this helps! ...Read more

I keep getting uti, back pain, pelvic pain. Ultra sound showed small fibroid in uterus. Is this what's causing my issues? I can't get an answer from ob
Endometriosis?: Your ob/gyn will rule out dangerous causes of your pain such as kidney infection. Unfortunately some conditions like endometriosis can only be diagnosed by surgery. If the pain is not bad enough then surgery may not be in your best interest. If you still have symptoms, keep seeing your doctor until you are happy with the long term plan. ...Read more
I went for an ultra sound due to breast growth, one day periods, round belly, larger appetite, tired. The ultrasound showed blood in my uterus. Why?
Unclear: One would need to see the images to interpret them. Blood in the uterus is called a hematometra. Schedule a follow up with the doctor who ordered the test to go through the findings in detail. ...Read more

After cscan found small spot in my liver I am 77 years old and have never had cancer. I do have a degree of "fatty liver" but now the ultra sound also found this spot which is small in the right lobe of my liver about 4., 2 x 2.0 x2.3 CM the ultr sound d
Whenever there's doubt about the nature of a lesion in the liver, biopsy is a pretty good way of sorting it out. Liver biopsy is a common procedure and one that can be done with little pain and little risk. It sounds like, in your case, the best modality for doing a biopsy (if it's necessary) would be ultrasound guidance.
That said, it's certainly better if one can make a diagnosis on the basis of imaging studies. It sounds like your doctor is doing his or her best to make that happen. There are a lot of things that can look funny in the liver and yet be benign. The fact that the larger lesion isn't showing up on ct is a good sign, especially if you had what's called a multiphase study. Multiphase studies are very sensitive for subtle abnormalities. If the MRI also shows nothing there, then you probably don't need anything more. ...Read more
I have been checked for fibroids and hormone imbalance both are good is there another reason I spot during ovulation time ultra sound was clear?
Multiple causes: Irregular spotting can be due to multiple reasons. An ultrasound would not be the best way to check for pathology on the inside of your uterus (i.e. polyp) that can cause bleeding. A sonohystogram or HSG or hysteroscopy would be better test for that. In addition, estrogen levels drop briefly around the time of ovulation so that can lead to some spotting. Also, is your Pap smear normal? ...Read more
I had an ultra sound for cysts on my ovary and they found 5 spots on my liver what could that be?
A little more detail on the spots found on the liver can narrow down the possibilities.
A collection of blood vessels (hemangiomas) can sometimes be identified on ultrasound.
Alternatives include fluid filled cysts such as liver cysts, parasitic infections (echinoccocus infections) etc.

I got an ultrasound today and they told me my ovary is overlapping my uterus. What does this mean?
Nonmedical terms: "An ovary overlapping the uterus" is a descriptive nonmedical terminology of very unclear and uncertain meaning; if you have no pain and your ultrasound exam was otherwise normal, there is no cause for alarm. Your right and left ovaries are very mobile internal organs which may be found in different locations around your uterus within your pelvis at different times. ...Read more

I had an ultrasound at about 5 weeks. They saw a very small sac but said there was a lot of free fluid in my uterus maybe septate. What does it mean?
Waterbag: Early in pregnancy the walls of the waterbag are not as closely attached to the wall of the womb as they are lateron. On ultrasound the shadow of part of the waterbed is seen with fluid between the waterbed and the wall of the womb, creating an image of septation. This issue vanishes as pregnancy progresses. ...Read more
