White Spot In Eye
Eye has been red for two days, today I noticed a white spot. My eye doctor is closed tomorrow, if this is an ulcer will I be okay until Thursday?
Could be an ulcer: It sounds like you have had this experience before. Ulcers occur on the cornea, especially in relationship to contact lens overwear. Take the lens out and keep the eye clean. If you have left over antibiotics from your previous experience, it is best to start them. If the condition gets at all worse, then see another eye doctor for evaluation and treatment. ...Read more

See eye doctor: To answer your question is going to require an eye doctor to see the "white spot". Most infections are red and painful rather than white. Allergy will typically affect both eyes rather than just one and itching is a common symptom of an allergy. Important details to share with your doctor are: how long the white spot has been there, associated symptoms, vision changes, painful or not, etc. ...Read more

No: You are likely seeing a light reflection from the anterior aspect of the intraocular lens implant. How's your vision? Glare symptoms from normally expected opacification of the posterior capsule that supports the intraocular lens may also increase the rather whitish reflex too. For reassurance talk to your ophthalmologist. A checkup is usually a good idea. ...Read more
