White Specks In Baby Poop
Undigested formula: This is a very common complaint from parents. The Infants' immature digestive system takes longer to digest the milk protein. Those "white bits" you see in the stool are actually bits of undigested milk protein. This is absolutely normal and nothing to be worried about ...Read more
4months old baby passing stool in green colour and foam like consistency,4times aday .Is it normal?
Stools in 4mo old: Green stools in a 4 mo old, 4 times a day can be pretty normal. Especially if you are starting to introduce new foods or if the baby is on medication. The consistency can change too from pasty to more formed (like adults-they can smell just as bad too). Beware though! If you see blood in the stools see your child's pediatrician. ...Read more
Do black specs(like tiny pepper flakes) in the stool indicate blood even when the stool in a normal brown color?
Nah: Significant blood loss (more than 3-4 ounces of blood), especially from upper sources, e.g. Stomach, duodenum , small bowel, less likely from right colon, can give black, tarry stol, with a typically characteristic odor, often loose (blood is a laxative):melena (black). Entire stool would be black, not just individual spots. Likely from food, seeds. Iron pills, pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) can do also. ...Read more

24 month boy. I've noticed dark grape like balls in stool. Very little stool with them. Mucus, globs of soft but solid rope twisted chunks. ?
Give more fiber+H2O: Important details: ? weight gain, abdominal pain? frequency of bm's? If your child is happy, stooling regularly and seems healthy, then stool appearance is less important. Many children this age are picky and eat less veggies and fruits which can either cause a large, hard stool or pellets. Mucous glands are present in the rectum to lubricate defecation. See doctor if child seems ill. ...Read more

My stools come out in very dark greenish black pebbles. What does this mean? I've had different color, texture, and floating and non float stools
Possibly melena?: Dark-colored stools may result from iron supplements, foods you eat (like a lot of spinach), substances (like peptobismol), but most significantly suggests bleeding. When blood is denatured by acid in your stomach, as from ulcers, stools will turn tarry ("melena"). Blood may also be ingested from nose bleeds, bleeding gums... Persistent melena (without obvious cause) ; symptoms warrants md visit. ...Read more
My 3 month old sons poop has turned dark brown with white chunks in it. He is formula fed enfamil with baby oatmeal in it. His stools have increased?
Brown is OK!: Baby poop is lots of different colors and can change from day to day for any baby. One day brown, one day yellow, one green. The worrisome colors are dark black after the first few days of life (cuz your first poop is blackish meconium), red poop or pure white poop. I suppose purple would be weird too! as his digestive tract matures, consistency will also vary. And yes, baby poop stinks! ...Read more

My baby is 4months old he do poo like after or between every feed, stool looks sometimes yellowes green sometime only green with white chuckes inside.
Maybe ok; inform Dr.: Babies older than a week have yellowish poops with the thickness of mustard or thick spaghetti sauce. Breastfed babies have looser poops. Formula-fed babies have firmer poops. Poop gets darker, with brown/green colors blended in, and also gets firmer, as a baby gets older. A healthy, happy baby who gets mucousy or sticky poop less than once a month is likely normal, but parents should tell the dr. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

2 mo old baby passes lots smelly farts. Poop mustard yellow, smelly. Sometimes in pain. Formula and breast fed. Tried ovol, gripe, massage. Concern?
Baby poop: What you are describing all sounds very normal. The poop is a reflection of the bacteria in the baby's gut as well as your diet (as you are sometimes breast feeding). Babies often cry when trying to have bowel movements - it's a new thing for them and they have to learn how to relax a sphincter and at the same time are bearing down to push the stool out - they get frustrated/cry - it gets better ...Read more
Can be normal: Black dots on a baby's tongue would most likely be due to some increased pigmentation. This can be considered normal and is usually found more commonly in darker-skinned individuals. It also can be considered hereditary. However, you should probably mention it to your pediatrician next time you have a visit, or if the baby seems bothered by it, have it checked out sooner. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
