Don't know if I want to use this fluoride stuff my dentist recommended to get rid of the hard white plaque stuff. Is it safe?

Have hygienist scale: Fluoride strengthens teeth, especially while teeth are undergoing development in children. It has very little impact on white, soft plaque that has abosorbed the minerals in your saliva to become hardened (essentially fossilized) calculus. Don't try to brush this hard material away. It won't work and your gums may get damaged in the process. Get a hygienist to scale it off. Then floss daily! ...Read more

I have a lump on the bottom of my tongue. It's not painful and it has what seems to be a white head, the color of plaque. Should I worry?

Don't panic: The area below the tongue has a high density of salivary glands. Sounds like you may have an occluded salivary gland. Sometimes these occlusions clear on there own with salivary secretions. They tend to occur when you are dehydrated. Drink lots of water. And see your dentist for an examination of the bump ...Read more

I have multiple under the skin "cysts" or plaques (1-2 cm)" on the penile shaft around glans. I am otherwise normal. What are treatments? Thanks.

Cysts/Penile Shaft: If the patient remains asymptomatic, and generally, it does not get in the way with either urinary or sexual function no treatment is necessary. The only time that you need to get rid of sebaceous cyst on shaft is when there is complication caused by trauma or infection and this would require surgery. ...Read more

How to cure white skin patch?

How to cure white skin patch?

Difficult...: Dark patches can often be helped with medicine such as topical steroids or hydroxyurea, which can decrease pigment in the area. Unfortunately, once pigment is gone, in most cases it will not come back. Conditions such as vitiligo can be particularly challenging. Most people find make-up or even tatooing are more effective than "medical" treatments. ...Read more

I have a very yellow complexion. I am "tan". I want a perfect fair white skin.

There's no "perfect": There is no such thing as "perfect" when referring to humans, or to real life in general. Yellow may or may not be normal, depending on one's parents' skin colors (we don't get to choose our parents). Yellow may also be a normal condition called Gilbert's, or it could be a medical problem. Tan is usually normal, especially if one is more tan where the sun shines on the skin and less tan elsewhere. ...Read more

What can make a person a whitey skin? Does lotions or any body soap played the most to attain a white skin?

No, color: Of skin is determined by melanocytes which are located deep in the dermis, impenetrable to topical applications. The only way is to stay out of sunglight as much as possible, and your facial skin will be similar to skin of inside of upper arm, which does not get much sun. Use of sun blocks will help block effects of sunlight to exposed areas. Good luck. ...Read more
