My 59yr dad has this white lesion on the side of tongue. At first it was red then he took medication prescription by dr. For herpes but still there. What can it be?

I have an ulcer/lesion near the front and one side of my tongue (I'm not sure which), that also tastes a bit strange. It appeared yesterday.
You either traumatized it somehow or a taste bud in regenerating. Either way it will heal on its own and the taste would feel the same. Stay away from acidic foods and no worries.

Infection?: Lymph tissue does not belong in your tongue. You are immunosupressed and could have had an unusual infection on your tongue. As a tranplant recepient who is immunosupressed you are at risk for malignancies, but this doesn't sound like one.
