See a dermatologist: How do you know it is hormonal? Pcos? Menstrual history? Meds? Some birth control pills make acne better, some make it worse. The hormone on iud and the injection birth control make it worse. Your dr needs to know these different hormones. Typically spironolactone is best. Maybe: I needed to take systemic tetracycline until i was in my mid-40's. The important thing is that no youngster nowadays needs to have bad acne. There are a variety of approaches; i start with topical clindamycin, try a systemic antibiotic that the person can take if this fails. For the toughest cases, dermatologists have Accutane and lasers.
