White, Hard Spots On The Feet
My feet are always dry and have a dark hard gray spots! I have to go to spa to clean and smooth! Is there another solution?
Keratoses: Keratotic (so-called "stucco") lesions are common on the feet and elsewhere on the body. They are not dangerous but certainly are annoying. Try an otc lotion, such as lac hydrin or amlactin, with Lactic Acid or salicylic acid in it, to soften the top layer of skin. If those lotions aren't strong enough a dermatologist can prescribe one of a number of stronger preparations. ...Read more
Sometimes my feet randomly turn a purple/black color with purple spots near my ankles and it's hard to move my toes.?
Specific picture.: Somethings just can't be evaluated without actually seeing the issue at hand. I fear that this is one of them. Randomly occurring skin discolorations are sometimes impossible to explain, let along come up with a treatment plan. I suggest you take a picture of the event and upload it so a visual appreciation can be made. I feel certain that a Healthtap specialist can then help you. ...Read more
Had an impact injury on foot. When I point my toe downwards hard, and bring it back up, my Achilles tendon in the two spots on both sides hurts bad.
Achilles tendon: Sounds like you injured your achilles tendon. If there is even a small chance of a partial tear, you need to treat this, may need mri, need to immobilize ankle. Se your local podiatrist, don't fool around with an achilles tendon injury (note this is advice only. You must contact your primary care physician or podiatrist for an examination). ...Read more
What causes itchy, hard, little reddish purple spots in the palm of my hands and under the soles of my feet?
Strange rashes on my hands and feet. Got some firm little reddish spots that don't break. Is that hand-foot-mouth?
Possibly: Hand-foot-mouth disease is a common viral infection which leads to blisters or red spots on the palms, soles of the feet, and in the mouth. It can be associated with some fever. The condition is self-limited, lasting about a week. The only treatment is symptomatic. Check with your doctor if is continues. ...Read more
I have mouth ulcers, firm red spots on my palms and soles of feet. Dermo said HFMD but still spreading. 4 weeks now?
Secondary Syphilis: This rash could be syphilis-as it characteristically affects the palms and soles of the feet. Of course this is a sexually transmitted disease-so I would want to know your exposure history. You need to show this to a doctor, preferably an Infectious Diseases specialist who would know for sure what it was and how to best treat you. It is completely treatable but you need a proper dx. It's not HFMD! ...Read more

I've had a hard, raised spot on the top of my foot for 2 years. It was the color of my skin but recently turned white. Should I be concerned?
My daughter has a big hard bump on the side of her foot for about 3 weeks and now she has one on the other foot in the same spot. What could it be?
Hard bump: If it is on the outside or lateral aspect of her foot proximal from the little toe (toward the ankle) it sounds like it is the styloid process of the 5th metatarsal. The enlargement there is the normal shape for that particular bone. If she is having pain or redness or swelling then seek the care of a podiatrist. Good luck! ...Read more

Likely Fungal: Most likely cause is a fungal infection. Unless you are all walking on same carpet with coloring that is staining your feet. You can try lamasil and anti fungal powder or spray for shoes. Wear 100% cotton socks and keep feet & toes clean / dry. If no improvement, see your clinician or a podiatrist. ...Read more

I see Spots.: With not much to go on, there is not much to say. Consider, infection, such as fungal. Environmental, such as staining, dirt etc., could be remotely responsible. HFM disease: This time of year I would highly suspect hand-foot-mouth disease. This is a viral illness that is common during the summer months and can produce spots on hands and feet and sores in the mouth. Fever can accompany the rash as well. Some kids have the rash in all 3 places, others just one of the areas. Some have fever, some don't. Some act sick, some don't. Clears up on own in about a week. ...Read more
